It took me a while to edit it haha
Monogatari Series is good but isn't one of my favorites. However, from what I've read of Zaregoto, it has a huge potential to become one of my favorites.
Anyway, yeah, I do like Sejougahara a lot; but my favorite from the series is Hanekawa.
No problem! ^^ Thanks for sending it!
Where did you find me tho?
The novels all have the same protagonist and usually Kunagisa and Jun appear too, but the rest of the cast changes, so it's not too bad to read 'em by themselves.
With continuing adaptations it kinda depends how long it's been inbetween. When I finished watching Spice and Wolf I immediately wanted more so continued the manga loosely where the Anime left off, even though it wasn't seamless.
With Monogatari and Zaregoto I started from the start even though I alteady watched the stories, just cause I read the novels a year or so after watching the anime.
And hey, I'm enjoying the discussion so there's no need for self-consciousness. I actually started watching some stuff again cause you reminded me how fun watching anime can be, in a sense.
The novels are really nice, they really add to araragi's depth cause you get to see a lot more of his internal ongoings, though you obviously don't get Shaft's funky directing.
In terms of recommendations for LN, I can fully recommend anything from Nisiosin.
Katanagatari's probably my favourite work of his (anime's pretty good too) with the Zaregoto novels as close second.
The Monogatari novels are really good too, but I can't appreciate them as much.
Other good novels are Tatami Galaxy (yet another good anime adaptation), Night is short, Walk on Girl (same author/setting as Tatami) or Welcome to the NHK (which has, you guessed it, a good anime adaptation).
In general, it's kinda funny that most of our favourite anime is probably based on a Light Novel anyhow.
And don't sweat the spelling, it's still totally readable.
I gotta get around to reading the rest of the Zaregoto novels.
There's parts of them that I like a lot more than Monogatari, even though I absolutely adore that series.
I've been meaning to get some more reviews done, but just haven't been finding the time.
Did you give the show a watch yet?
