Lol, I at least agree with your point on MAL being absolute garbage when it comes to leaving replies, I recall mentioning the exact same thing on another profile who loves leaving behind troll reviews and enjoys getting snarky replies from the angry fandom. Anyways, on a less clowning note from my end, your review do fail to address what you mention - the writing of the story not being strong, why so? Discuss about the Frieren show itself rather than bringing in another show for comparison. How, in your opinion, does it fail to be a well written show? The show clearly is not attempting to reinvent the wheel, so what would it have made the writing stronger? Reading your review is confusing given how you keep bringing in other series, rather than discussing about the show you are trying to review. Your own writing does not have a clear sense of focus. Maybe next time try to add something meaningful to what you are discussing, given how you really failed to do so here.

As for your third paragraph, the way you speak is as if you went into this showing with certain preconceived set of expectations, with having certain shows already in mind, that if no other show could hit that expectation bar of yours, this show immediately becomes basic. Really, "cookie-cutter", "uninteresting setting"? How? When you mention "half-assed cliche character designs", what n-number of shows have those same cookie-cutter character designs? I am genuinely curious, name me a few, and I will check. Oh, and also note how you kept bringing up other shows, again, while trying to make a point on how this show is underwhelming. Again.

You keep praising other shows, but fail to address what exactly it is that the show you are attempting to review could have improved on, or did well in (besides the animation, that is the only basic thing you were able to say for praise). I am clearly not the only one who is finding your review to be confusing. And also I apologize for trolling previously, looks like I offended you. I was not angry, I am just disappointed. With not just your review, but with many others as well who are ill qualified reviewers on this garbage MAL platform, like yourself, failing to address the core points of the shows they watch and put out garbage reviews (some do it for trolling, others who do it unironically just do not understand how to review something), and only digressing to talk about other shows.

I already replied to this talking about how pathetic this was to throw a tantrum over someone calling an anime you like underwhelming, but I just realized (forgive me for being ancient and not understanding how MAL works) that this is even more pathetic - for some reason I thought you were commenting on my review itself - no, what you're actually doing is going out of you way to leave an angry comment on my profile? Seriously? I mean maybe this is the only way to respond to a review and MAL is just a bad platform, but this is still a pretty lame response.

Buddy, get a life. Getting so up in arms about a 5/10 review of an anime you like that you go through that user's anime list to validate throwing a tantrum at them is pathetic. You haven't offered up any cohesive or interesting counterpoints, you're just mad someone on the internet thought an anime was underwhelming. Not even horrible, but underwhelming.
