Anime List Manga List

Prologue: Greetings! This is my profile, I am Raphi. W O L F G A N G is an alias that I prefer to use in anime, games, manga and in this sort of stuff. There aren’t many people who watch anime in Bangladesh. So until sometime ago (2018), I was utterly oblivious about anime and its popularity. I used to watch a lot of cartoons in my early days though. During that time I mistook anime for cartoons and watched Doraemon, Pokemon, Shin-chan and etc without the knowledge that they were actually anime. At a certain age, I stopped watching anime/cartoons (when I thought they are the same) altogether by a misunderstanding that these are only for kids.

Restart: I started to watch anime again from January 1st/2019. On the day of the New Year’s, one of my friends forced me to watch an anime named Death Note. As I was watching that anime series to the end, sooner rather than later I began to search for anime with similar genres. Later I watched Tokyo Ghoul, Another, Parasyte, Attack on Titans, Monster, Elfen Lied, etcetera and soon realized that anime is meant for not only kids but to those who watch it. Some of them are even rated for adults only. Before I found out about MAL and the rating system, I used to have an Id on the infamous Kissanime server where I’d watch anime and stored information about them as bookmarks. After a while I joined MAL on February 29th/2020 (the leap year). Then with the shared history and bookmarks of many people including mine, Kissanime got shut down on August 14th/2020. But thanks to MAL–I escaped that tragedy with my records unharmed. And thus I got a new start.

Status quo: I use MAL as my primary/main account and tend to update my list frequently. I often accept random friend requests. Always respond to any comments or private messages even though I generally do not initiate conversations. I don’t wish to partake in club activities and that’s why I won’t be of any use to any clubs so far.

Epilogue: For those who read this far, I commend their patience. I tried to make my intro an interesting one but if somehow it seems unpleasant to oneself, please accept my humble apologies!

I personally admire the profession of anime/manga creation and the Japanese culture. So even though I know that most of the people take the rating system of MAL very seriously, although that’s really quite different for me. I always try to give a positive score to any adaptations and there are reasons such as described below for every score provided.

Score (10+) : |Splendid| There is no such thing as (score 10+) on MAL. They are my personal favorite and I always add reviews and tags for these sections. They are magnificent from my perspective.
Score (10/10) : |Masterpiece| They resemble the embodiment of the true work of art. The flawless structure of genres and continuation of the sequels with harmony is what makes them perfect.
Score (9/10) : |Great| The storylines are great and each could be considered as some wonderful piece of work by far. These adaptations can always provide some serious excitement.
Score (8/10) : |Very good| These series have potential, yet somewhere along the way it seems to me that the pieces lost their touch to reach even further. However, they are entertaining in their own way.
Score (7/10) : |Good| The plots are somewhat unpredictable in several sequences and that’s what makes them quite interesting to watch. Are they recommended? Hardly.
Score (6/10) : |Fine| Out of respect for the authors and their efforts to create these adaptations, I consider them as some fine works indeed. They are easy to forget either way.
Score (5/10) : |Average| The title “average” is an understatement for this type of series. Predictable outcomes with the same old clichés might be a proper way to describe them.
Score (4/10) : |Bad| Bad combination of genres, unorganized comedy routines, too many lewd (ecchi) scenes except an actual story. They are the very definition of boring from my experience.
Score (3/10) : |Very bad| The anime/manga of this section usually contains strong sexual content. They are basically close to hentai anime/manga series. So the title “very bad” holds a different meaning for them.
Score (2/10) : |Horrible| Blood and gore or intense violence is the main theme in these adaptations. Not ideal for all viewers.
Score (1/10) : |Appalling| Extreme should be the word instead of appalling. Adultery, mild Languages, drugs or perhaps some other criminal activities are very common affairs for these stories. They are focused on reality more than fiction.
