Since seventh grade, music has grown from being fifteen percent of me to eighty-five, atleast. I think anything technical and/or mathy is awfully beautiful, to the point of my mom thinking I've got to have Down Syndrome to enjoy it. Sikth is my favorite band, but they decided to split not too long ago. I'm still trying to get over the fact that I'll never see this pants-shittingly good band live.
Progressive metal/rock and jazz come after my fetish for all-things-technical. After that comes Doom/sludge, black, and death metal, post-rock, ambient, post-hardcore, screamo, shoegaze, folk, classical, and to a certain extent, hip-hop. Also, my jollies are got with anything highly experimental or avant-garde. I'm gay for genres.
Video games have always been a huge part of me as well. I grew up with the eight and sixteen-bit eras, and still enjoy those old-as-fuck games immensely. Chrono Trigger and Megaman X are the bomb.
As pathetic as it may sound, I spend more time with my family than I do my friends, something I don't exactly regret. I just wish the time spent were a little more equal, haha. I care far too much for both of them, which might be seen as a bad thing by some (I'll definitely be one of those 'family man' types you see in movies when I get older), but it's cool. My best friends are the ones I reminisce with and constantly bitch at. Don't ask me how that works.
I've got an extremely dry, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor, which sucks because it meshes terribly with a lot of people, family and friends included. I basically end up either looking like an idiot that talks out of his ass every time he tries to be funny, or an obnoxious dick that makes fun of the most inane things every time he tries to be serious. Go figure.
To be honest, I'm not much of an anime guy anymore. The last series I actually took the time to watch fully was Fantastic Children, almost a year ago. I made this account for my douchebag friend.
