A quarter of the anime has absolutely nothing to do with the plot, and is instead adapted from various side stories.
The villain of the first arc doesn't even know why he was even a villain in the first place... Like how udderly stupid is that. And the villain of the second arc featured in the anime, oh lord. They should've just ended it at 14 episodes instead of making a terribly rushed second arc.
The characters certainly aren't anything special (well, Asuna is alright.) Let's see... Kirito is the generic shounen male protagonist, totally original. Sugaboobs, a useless fanservice character.
Overall, the anime is udder garbage. Maybe a 6/10 at best, being generous with a rating.
