Hey! Thanks for the secret santa gift!! I immediately watched Ping Pong the Animation and thought it was one of the best things I've seen. The fact that the characters were so well detailed and their dynamics with each other made it such an enjoyable show. I was also extremely happy with the OP/ED (especially the soundtrack during episode 6). Just like you, I favorited Tsukimoto since I thought he ultimately made the right decision at the end. As for your other recommendations, I will eventually get to them!! I know that Steins Gate has a slow start but just like Code Geass, I know it'll be worth it.

Thank you for the Secret Santa gift! My partner happened to be interested in watching Higurashi despite not being much into anime, so we watched the first 15 episodes of season 1 together. You were spot on, we spent so much time talking about it and theorizing between episodes (and screaming at the TV during some of the twists and horror scenes). The atmosphere develops really well, and the dichotomy of rom-com fluff and psychological horror is perfectly balanced, with the comedy pulled back at appropriate times and each "cycle"/arc gradually getting darker so that there's minimal genre whiplash. I can't wait to watch more!

I've only had time to watch 2 episodes of your other rec, but so far I'm really intrigued and excited to see how the characters develop and how the lore of their world(s) is further revealed. I enjoyed the abstract visuals as well, and I hope there's more to come.

I mean we both have different taste, so its hard to give recommendation for shonen to u. Yeah, shonen is my speciality, I can recommend shonen too, but without more context about ur taste it much more hard to give a get-go shonen rec for u than other shows just based on ur list. (i dont exactly know which type of shonen u would like)

As for ur rec, Jojo is interesting. i liked part 2 a lot. but season 1 was part 1 + part 2 that's why the low score. Part 3 on the other hand felt too repetitive for me. But yeah, i eventually plan on visiting it back. Monster tbh i do know about it, But I am more interested in yawara from same author (since i am a sports anime fan). Once i complete that, i will get into it.

I love how HxH is one of your favorite anime, it is my favorite, so I believe that we have a similar taste. It's interesting that you've heard that the second season is better, I usually hear that about the first. For me, since its the same story, it's hard for me to demarcate. But if I had a gun to my head, I would probably choose the second season too, while it is a bit weird, everything turns out pretty smoothly. Definitely take your time with that.

Kanon is really good..it's been a really long time since I've seen it..think I was like a freshman in college haha but if you like Kanon, you will surely Clannad..which is considered to be a superior version of Kanon (made by the same people). Totally different genre, so let me know if you enjoy it

I will definitely recommend you to watch Code Geass, if you haven't yet. It is one of my favorite!
