O V E R V I E W
I love psychological horror or psychological drama, and will often eat up what some might consider /iamverysmart-esque philosophizing and naval gazing. I enjoy the absurd, so I can enjoy things that consistently and intentionally don't make much sense. I also like anime that are just a fun, thoughtless watch.
I appreciate and can be biased towards atmospheric, dark, and/or melancholic tone; and 90s-style (or particularly unique and thoughtful) animation.
I will tend to get unhappy about inconsistent and/or "cheap" plot and characters, or tones/themes that feel like they're philosophizing for an agenda (hitting an audience, "buying" depth) rather than the pure joy of uselessly digging into an idea.
I hated Franxx.

Scores generally attempt to follow MAL default descriptions (i.e., 1="Appalling," [...], 10="Masterpiece"), albeit with my personal biases (of course), which I usually attempt to recognize and make note of (e.g., steins gate was 10/10 on my first watch, and is still one of my favorites, but would get some criticism from me if I watched it for the first time today). In this way, tags are used as brief review/explanation for scores, and possible noting of ways in which a score may be biased (be it nostalgia biasing a score higher, or annoyance biasing a score lower).
I've considered going through and editing the scores I gave to some of the earlier anime I watched, but I'm not sure whether or not I should; as a result I have edited some scores to get better consistency, but many scores reflect how I felt immediately after an anime at a particular time in my life. Some scores changed after a day or two of chewing on my feelings about a piece, or after a rewatch.

On rewatches, it's funny because in particular I didn't really like Steins;Gate that much when I first watched it - and yes, it for sure was a different time in my life. Funnily enough I barely remember it now besides the major plot points, so I can go into it with a fairly open mind. I'm not the only one who made the mental connection between that Anonymoose video and Steins;Gate it seems, which kind of shocks me tbh. I'm you could make a converging timeline joke about it somehow.
