Two points; being an amateur artist for manga doesn’t make you credible for anything. Two, even if you were a great manga artist, it doesn’t mean you’re any good at story writing. Therefore you’re really not proving anything on that respect. Further more, you’re resorting to character attacking me as a unhinged way of proving your fanboy opinions are correct rather than offering a rebuttal to my points, or how I’m actually wrong from a objective point of view. It’s very childish, and I recommend if you want to change anyones mind, figure out a more intelligent way of going about it.
So unless you’ve got some better content to debate me with, I’m not going to waste my time. Thanks for the debate.
I appreciate your criticism of my ratings lol, but it seems to me that you dont grasp the nature of theme and story narration. But honestly if you can come up with successful SoL stories, please by all means go pitch them to Kyo Ani or whoever will buy the rights - you'll be very successful in no time. I can imagine you know little about the art of the actual act of writing plots, character stories, and so on.
If you even read this far, slower or mundane stories can be "better" in impact than Berserk or Vinland Saga if the message and goal of the narrative is effectively conveyed to the target audience. If the directors of K-On and Yuru Yuri want to make entertaining stories for a younger female audience who want low stress cute things, and they succeed in that, then it hits the point and deserves good ratings.
What is disappointing is seeing Berserk, who's Mangaka squandered the soul of his series. It is truly sad that it went from soul crushing catastrophe such as Griphons band being eaten by demons to seeing Naruto Jr. swinging goofy fairy daggers around. I knew from the point I dropped the series that the Mangaka lost the guts to kill his own characters. What a narrative betrayal, and if it wasn't for the first arcs of the story, I'd have given Berserk a 4. Your rose tinted glasses make you think rotten apples still taste good mere because you like apples.
Define the entire product - in which the first arcs of Berserk are some of the best manga I've ever read, and the last bits before the mangaka died are mediocre. He literally choked his story after binging on Idolmaster. It went from a 9 or 10 and became a 5. A solid mediocre after it tanked in style and narrative.
Yuru Yuri was okayish at best but for a slice of life, it was more enjoyable than it wasn't, so 6 is pretty fair.
Go get your head checked if you think madoka magica belonged in a Berserk storyline.
