I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to Death,
Nor known to Life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works.
read FSN, play persona 3 & danganronpa, watch sangatsu no lion
Thank you for the Heroes Rising review. I didn’t really like the first movie, either, personally, but Heroes Rising frustrated me quite a lot. Sure that part with Deku and Bakugou Vs Nine was VERY well done in terms of audiovisuals and emotional appeal. Hell, I’ll admit nearly shedding tears cause the soundtrack playing was that godly.
But everything else wasn’t really doing it for me. Soon after that epic moment, I was facepalming so hard at that OFA retcon...it was perhaps dumber than the countless retcons in Naruto Shippuden. I didn’t like how the movie villains had literally nothing going for them, either, beyond some pitifully implemented flashbacks. They just felt so pointless and void of anything to really care about except for being frustrated at their conceited characterization.
I get what you mean. In my mind, neither version is "canon" per se, so I always see them as competing to be the best/most enjoyable version of the events that Toriyama thought up. That said, I think the eventual animated version of the Moro saga could surpass the manga in many ways if they take their time with it.
Thanks for the constructive criticism :p Over the last few months I've actually been reading through the series again and planning on updating my review, so I'll probably get around to that eventually. When I wrote it I was just totally fed up with the anime's pacing, and from my perspective the manga didn't have that problem. If you don't mind sharing, what was the worst thing about my review?
