feel free to recommend me anything, i basically just want to watch every anime eventually, with a few exceptions. (you could not PAY me to watch kiss x sis. sorry.)
i especially like unique art styles, shoujo, psychological themes, high-quality animation, magical girls, lgbt characters, and just weird stuff, though. :)
I don't really watch seasonally anymore, maybe one or two shows, but thats about it. I'd prefer to just watch whatever I like, rather than feel obligated to keep up, but like I said, I'll watch basically any anime you recommend me if it's good! :D
also, i read manga, but i don't update my manga list. i got out of the habit and now i can't get back into it lol.
recommend me old manga !! I like to read 1970s shoujo. devilman is an exception to my usual taste, seeing as it's a shounen.
favorite characters!!
favorite characters in anime and manga! I know mal already has a section for this, but I want to expand upon on my opinions on the characters. honestly although they're numbered, I really can't say I like some more than others. about 4 (rei, asuka, kaworu, ryo) are tied for #1.
I tend to prefer characters with a lot of complexities to them, where you can really analyze their actions.
BTW, as you can see, im not talking about devilman *crybaby* ryo, his characterization is one of the things I disliked about crybaby. I prefer him in basically every other devilman iteration. he's much more fun when he's expressive rather than being some emotionless cool-guy, he needs to be unhinged for the character to work. I mean he's LITERALLY satan. I do like the theory that devilman crybaby is some kind of prequel to the manga, tho. (bc of time loops)
~1970s shoujo manga
this isn't a ranking! I just want to have a little section for it. I love the styles of these manga and the stories as well, for the ones I've been able to read with translations.
Kaze to Ki no Uta in particular is such a good manga, and I recommend it to anyone who isn't bothered by darker stories. (I personally had to skip over some sections of the manga)
a lot of manga by the year 24 group is pretty dark, but theres other shoujo mangaka during this time that made more silly or straightforward stories which I also enjoy.

all I will say about full moon wo sagashite is that its very shoujo
I have been watching a few more romance, a shoujo I started is an anime called Mysterious thief saint tail and it has been giving me good romance but its gotten pretty repetitive with its story so I will update you whether or not I enjoyed the ending
agreed. Also how you liking some of the animes you're watching currently?
I just finished! Like literally 2 minutes ago lol, I thought I should let you know my thoughts right away. Full moon o sagashite was enjoyable, had some slow episodes so it had its good and bad but I'm probably most impressed with its ending since it was somehow able to recover from all the other dramatic stuff that happened in the anime. Now at some point in the anime a plot twist came out of nowhere and ruined the show for me but after convincing myself to keep watching it was pretty good. (still not too happy about the plot twist though lol) and I would love to talk about it in depth with you but can't since I would have to mention a spoiler. Also a possible plot twist that most people saw coming wasn't actually true which was a relief because the situation would have become messy
In conclusion, I deem cardcaptor sakura the better shoujo romance!
Well anyways keep me updated
Anyway, would you like to share some of your thoughts on this thread I made? :)

True, I feel like if a shoujo anime was created now with a girl liking an older guy people would hate on it A LOT. Ah makes sense I will remember that too when recommending shoujo animes to people haha
Thank you~ I will continue to send you more gifs and images
Yeah I've been watching full moon wo sagashite more and its been pretty good, not too much romance yet except for a few scenes but I have a feeling it'll come soon
Seems like the main girl liking an older guy is pretty common in shoujo mangas/animes, I don't have too much of a problem with it but thinking of it realistically its a bit weird haha
Hope to chat with you again, its nice to talk to some one who likes shoujo anime too, also take this natsume yuujinchou image
It’s totally okay, thanks for at least responding!
LMAO, I’ll just quickly go over it- honestly more interested into the art rather than the story xD Ryo Asuka, totally looks like a beauty!
One of the animes I really like is called natsume yuujinchou, its not a romance but is a relaxing shoujo which cheers me up after a long day. If you like or are looking for a slow paced anime I recommend natsume yuujinchou. Natsume the main character is also one of my favorite characters who has a youkai (who looks like a cat) accompany him. I'm not very good at writing synopsis' but I will let you know that the genres are shoujo, drama, SOL and supernatural
Another one I finished recently is called kodomo no omocha or also known as kodocha. Now the anime has a lot of episodes but what kept me going was the leads, many frustrating moments but I couldn't forget how I felt after the anime finally ended. Its about a girl who does show biz and literally is the definition of someone on sugar rush, shes very energetic and that leads her to the cold male lead in her class. They don't get along at first but after Sana the main girl helps him have a better relationship with the people around him and eventually himself, he begins to accept her more. Main leads are kids so you can expect lots of drama and dumb scenes but it was a refreshing anime. I do like the anime but I recommend the manga more since its faster paced and more dramatic while the anime is very kid friendly throughout and has lots of filler. If you are any bit interested in this anime you can always try watching the first few episodes and see how you like it or the OVA which cover the first few episodes of the anime in only 30 minutes lol
I also am watching this anime called full moon wo sagishite which is also a shoujo romance anime which I heard is similar to cardcaptor sakura in terms of its romance because both main girls like an older guy at the beginning but ends up becoming confused of who they really like (not completely sure for full moon but that's what i've heard) can't say how I feel about Full moon wo sagashite yet but I am enjoying it so far
and thank you for the recommendation! I will check it out for sure eventually since I do plan on watching all shoujo animes and sorry for making this so long
Got a quick question, your pfp what manga is it from? :O
