oh I see but I think when writting review you can harm future readers if you mix personal 'mode state' with describing your impressions and manga quallities..
Whenever I feel bad I don't write comments nor reviews because of that. I ould make offense maybe to author and story that wasn't so bad and to future readers who won't give a glance to the manga because of my review and maybe that manga was to their liking. *O*

about uke being weaker then seme. that's the fact in most cases when the story is about that types of people. you don't need to understand that becaue it's fact of nature. someone's born with such personality which require someone's support and 'strong lead'. it's not about strong seme and weak uke. it's about characters and personalities that blends together and find their soulmates like that. You can find also many other manga with other characters like evil uke and poor seme or 2 seme who fight for position in relationship xD I am surprised you don't know that even if you read so much. *o*
That's why we have different kind of stories, in real life also you have various people and what do you think? manga just uses example out of reality in case of characters and peronalities. it's just the choice of person what is to their liking and reading at moment. but you can't bash that case of protagonists just because you don't like it.
also Damsel in Distress may for YOU be something usual since you had READ MANY manga's and you know that theme, BUT to NEW ones that MAY BE 1st manga in THAT 'genre' or style how can I say on english.. You as longtime reader Fail if you don't score and read and feel EACH MANGA AS YOUR FIRST ONE. Manga isn't bad if it containe theme that you read many times and Damsel in Distress isn't overused, you think that just because you read too much. If you don't like that theme you need just to switch to other suiting to you.
Manga isn't good if characters and personalities doesn't make sense nor they can explain their actions and emotions and connection to the story, if story is too quick despite theme and characters developement or reverse ...etc. those are criteria for making review..
I am really sad that when I come accross many pages here on MAL I just see ridiculous comments called 'reviews' .. those are just like brat's barking. like no one knows the form of review.
And Scoring is one thing that means the most to the author and some readers. For someone selfishly giving good or bad scores it's really egocentric in my opinion and offense..
I am just talking globaly not about you :) but I want to explain why I commented on your profile and was really angry at that moment at your biased and unhelpful review. I am old reader o I absolutely mostly don't give damn nowdays to reviews but to newcomers they can mean to 'read' or 'not read' or awtch something. and I see many good works beeing bashed by nowdays watchers/readers which is really sad for me :/

btw we have close birthdays XD mine is 19th November lol.. so you Scorpion too..

totally not fitting and awful review for Beast & Feast. Even if you read so much yaoi manga your review doesn;t follow that reputation since manga isn't totally that bad as you described it.

I enjoyed reading your review of beast & feast. good work :)

Oh it's no bother! It's from Merry Checker by Suzuki Tsuta. It's really good so if you haven't read it yet, you should (if BL is your thing that is~)

And wow, I wasn't aware there was a manga! Or I was before but forgot all about it as I tend to. So thank you! I'll definitely be getting my hands on that :)

I have most of my friends on batoto in the series discussions. And yes, purple library guy's comments and a couple of other people's comments got me into posting more there cause the discussion is at a pretty good level and intelligent, and he seems to read a lot of the same series as me so I see him on there a lot. Of course it's interesting cause guys will look at shoujo and josei differently than other gals do. I don't look at comments before I read series though, I usually just read it anyway first. I haven't really played forum games and such much, usually just posting about the series I'm reading etc or sometimes about music and movies.

I don't mind drama actually so I read a lot of manhwa and a lot of Hwang Mi Ri, but I know that her stuff isn't the best but I enjoy reading it anyway, but I know that I'm different from other readers in that aspect. lol I prefer the humorous ones and sweeter romances better too than ones with a lot of angst as well. But I do read some that aren't all that great also just cause I somehow like to read them anyway. And some I read more for the art.

I read more shoujo and josei than I do other types but I also read yaoi, seinen and shounen, some of everything really - and it looks like you do the same. For yaoi, I prefer the non shouta types where it is two men not boys and I don't even mind if it's explicit but I like the humorous ones best, although my favorite of that type is probably Haru wo Daiteite. I have been reading more yaoi and more one shots than I used to though and more josei and seinen than shounen types.

I started with Onemanga originally and was on there exclusively until they took the manga reader down, I'm still on the forums there but not as much as before, now I'm more on Batoto and here. Some of my friends from onemanga brought a bunch of us to batoto after that.
Yes, I agree the discussions on the forums for the individual series is where I have met most of the people I'm friends with there and there are a bunch of us who seem to read a bunch of the same stuff, plus there are less really ignorant ones there too, the discussion is usually really good and relevant.

Hi, yeah, I use this name on all manga sites etc and since I made it up myself hopefully there are no imposters.
You read quite a lot too I see. :)
The comments on batato seem more active than here on a lot of them or more interactive at least like discussions not just chapter comments.

Why yes I am :) I'm on batoto and onemangaforums.
