But anyways people in MAL are so sensitive, the TR anime is mediocre at best, the manga is probably a lot better, but be careful if you say that it's overrated they will come after you.
Yeah agreed, Boruto isn't as bad as people say it is.
The main problem of Boruto is that Naruto is fully action packed and when the fans watch Boruto they expect the same but it just goes nowhere (Naruto wants to be a hokage but Boruto has no driving agent/goals) and it takes too long for a decent fight and after that it goes downhill once again.
Kishimoto took a 3 year long break so there is a new writer. the writer is decent but he didn't care about anime adaptation so in total of 177 episodes it covered only 23 chapters like WTF mate, then Kishimoto becomes the writer again and he care about anime so there are more of manga cannons lately but it took way too long time for recovery that most of the fans don't care anymore.
YES! That was my exact thought: I kept thinking how much it was like to KvO. Amazing choreography and animation for both fights. If I'm being honest, I think today's fight was just as good, if not even better, to KvO in terms of animation. I think episode 65 beats out 189 in terms of stakes/what is on the line, but today's wins in animation. Studio Pierrot using the manga art style for the episode was so freaking nice!
I think it'll also be a good break, Kawaki needs a little bit more development in my opinion. In the manga, what he got was good, but I would still like to see him grow a little more. I'm not sure if you're caught up, so I won't go into specifics, but I'm looking forward to seeing how he and Sumire interact.
