My interest in anime began mainly with
Studio Ghibli movies, but thanks to the low quality of some of the anime series that had made it to American television, I wasn't yet sold on anime series. That decisively changed when I saw
Your Lie in April. This showed the potential of the medium for storytelling, and it made me realize that anime is in a different league than Saturday morning and weekday afternoon cartoons. Besides anime, I watch
English- and other European-language TV shows and
Korean dramas. I also listen to
music, read
books, play
Chess variants, and write on my
blog about freethought and philosophy.
