Makes sense. I think it really has more to do with the writing quality than the animation quality here in this case, though for me I really like it when both are hand-in-hand. As a fan of the original, my feelings for it are about the same as yours, but I appreciated it even more when I ended up watching the BluRay version and compliation later on.
I'm very mixed on Magia Record on now, personally, as you can see from my s1 review. I think it did serve its purposes, but the game's story can never be expressed properly in broadcasted anime form. It simply can't, especially with how long the content of it is. Even then, it'll forever be in the shadows of the original. Kinda like how the Fate Grand Order anime, being also from a gacha game spinoff, will never reach the likes of the main Fate series.
FYI I never said I disagreed with your review. Again, I thought it was completely justified.
Hi again! I finished writing my own review a couple of hours ago, I doubt it's anywhere near as good as yours and I hope I didn't just accidentally copy your review (lol my bad if i did) but I tried! Please feel free to give me feedback, thanks. :)
No problem! I'm in the middle of writing my own review for the anime too, but I don't think it'll be anywhere near as good as yours or glamazon's review lol. A bit of shame the anime disappoints, but I guess I hope that the sequel doesn't do that for the sake of fans like you. Best of luck! :)
I just read your review on TWEWY The Animation—summed up some of my concerns in a way I never could.
Good job! :D Also, oh wow, not just a fellow TWEWY fan, but a fan of meguca and CCS and Tutu too?
oh my gosh!! how could you give my favorite anime a bad review!! favorite character is homura? HA! just goes to show you have absolutely no taste in anime! youre probably just some emo kid who sits around and reads BL all day instead of having friends IRL and you think that you have the right to judge my favorite anime?? get a job!
I wasn't saying it was going to fix those tonal issues necessarily, but you also talked about the characters in your review, so I felt like sharing something that showed they have depth. Like Bondrewed isn't just evil to be evil like your review kind of says. The whole turning your brain off comment is why I linked something that showed the depth of the characters especially Nanachi. It does feel weird to see you have FMAB in your favorites though has it has a lot of weird tonal issues. Either way thank you for watching the video. :)
Saw your Made in Abyss review and I don't normally just link a video since most people don't like that, but this video might help explain why people really like movie 3. It actually has a lot of depth and turning your brain off doesn't actually work as it will let you miss the depth and meaning behind the characters.

Ignore the bg music in the video. No, this isn't my own video.
Good job! :D
