I apologize if my review was not understandable or if it was misleading at all. If there is any specific part of the review that you disagree with or don't find resemblance I would love to try and clarify things for you. I felt that my review just gave a general idea of the story, I didn't give away any specific events in the manga, which is why I'm a bit confused as to why you find no resemblance at all.
It took me a little while to find it interesting. If you're at volume 4, I don't think you've necessarily gotten to the point where I thought to myself “this is really good!” but if you're absolutely bored by it then I obviously wouldn't want you to push yourself to read it if you're going to end up wasting your time with it! XD
The reason I ended up loving the story mostly (which I believe I mentioned in my review) is the character development. On your anime list you have the anime “Black Cat” Do you remember any of it? I feel like Code Breaker is quite a bit like Black Cat. Oogami used to kill people but overtime his character develops and before you realize it he's a completely different person! The same happened with Train in Black Cat. And I love when that happens in an anime or manga, because then it feels like the story is actually going somewhere, whereas a lot of animes and mangas these days just get boring (for me) because the characters haven't changed at all over the span of several years.
People have mixed feelings about Code Breaker. Some people absolutely love it, whereas there are also just as many people that hate it and think it's a waste of their time. And everyone is entitled to their own opinion!
Concerning the 'Eva series', I assume you mean “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, sorry but even if I wanted to I never drop animes that I've started. A friend recommended it to me so I do plan on finishing it, also it has a fairly high score on MAL.
Though I do plan on watching the Evangelion movies after I finish the show.
