I will try to review anime in the same way I've reviewed musical performances and novels: I'll pick through the basic elements of the production, come up with a thesis, and explain why the show succeeded or failed based on how I viewed/heard the pieces.
And I'll probably fail because I actually suck at writing. Or I'll write after drinking something stiff.
I'll probably slap a production hard because of one poorly-executed scene. "Hey," you might say, "that's not fair, what about the rest of the production?" Yeah, well, whenever I start watching that production again, that scene is going to pop up in my memory like the Tank zombie from Left 4 Dead. Thanks, but no thanks. In this business, ONE bad decision has far-reaching repercussions.
