The first anime I remember watching as a kid were My Friend Totoro and one of the speed racer series, this was of course before I knew what Japanese anime was. Afterwards I saw shows like Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Digimon and even bought some episodes of Pokemon on VHS. When I was was about twelve years old I was introduced to Dragon Ball Z which at the time they were airing the cell saga or the cell games to be more specific. I just remember being blown away by what I was seeing as I had never seen anything remotely like it before growing up watching stations like Nickelodeon, Fox kids, and cartoon network in the early to mid 90's. This was essentially my introduction into anime as I began to watch other anime such as Yu-gi-oh!, Yuyu hakusho, Inuyasha and Case Closed amongst many other shows that aired on Toonami and Adult Swim. There came a time when I was on long hiatus from anime that spanned a few years that I cant really pin point when, but that ended when when I discovered bleach on adult swim by chance during the The Sneak Entry arc and Ichigo was fighting Kenpachi. since then I been keeping up with the series on Toonami and it's the only anime I refuse to watch subbed for some reason. I believe it's because I been watching it dubbed for so long I closely associate the voice actors voices with the characters.
As of late I'v been watching mostly romance anime. I sometimes prefer a more mature romance anime from either seinen or josei. I'm not sure if can watch anime that's 'really' dramatic and prefer not to see tragedies. I like good endings that are realistic yet idealistic as possible without coping out or being cliche. Also I typically don't like anime that's sexual just for sake of being sexual, where women have with really large breast that bounce exaggeratedly as they walk; I find this to be immature.
