Im portuguese if you want to talk
I work part time as well, and I mostly waste time on youtube and watch anime.. or go out and see movies.
same though, i'm just trying to truck through my last month of school before summer break..i have a lot of reading and manga planned for this summer..
But yeah i think you will enjoy this one because its quite different then your average shonen joe. Togashi is clearly one for a more sophisticated plot, it explores such themes that you would probably never see in a shonen series, like racial discrimination, racial stereotypes, cultural and political elements with its world building (i wish naruto had alot more of this) and above all else, a real rich physiological exploration of the characters.
That being said, it also ends at actually quite a pretty decent conclusion. IN fact most of everything that happens wards in the manga doesn't really tie into the events in the anime as much. It is almost like the author suddenly felt compelled to just go through major world building and continue his manga but through a whole another big adventure or what ever. So the anime it self actually has a formal resolution, that has been drummed up since the beginning of the show. So with that in mind, you will enjoy some what of a mid conclusion that will satisfy you and end on a really good note.
One piece is another really well respected and ambitious shonen series where (although very long and almost never seems like it has an end in sight) has some of the most incredible cast of characters you'll ever see and witness and some of the most groundbreaking and dramatic backstories. Some of the greatest world building and Oda's unique imaginative idea of worlds with different laws, cultures, rules, etc. Its a phenomenal series and has maintained such etiquette consistency for 15 long years and for any author to be able to pull something like that off is just unheard of.
In fact the most recent chapter of one piece, the author teases a a MAJOR foshadowing of a certain event that is going to happen that change history, but for now its considered an "untold story". But either way, you can see the passion with this author, he knows full well what he's writing and he plans far ahead with his source material.
So anyways, just think of that, if your itching for another good shonen series, then check out either one piece or Hxh. One piece may be a little intimidating at first with its scope and size. But i am sure either one will probably hook you as long as you can get over the art style of ODA and appreciate his unique quality of style with its many colorful locales and characters. As i said with hxh, it has a really vivid exploration of physiological elements that most shonen don't dare to tread.
