Oh, I see! It's fine, I'm not spoiling it. ;)
I just saw you're on episode 8... it's good I didn't ask about anything specific haha.
YORERU Oct 1, 2014 6:54 PM
Oops, sorry, I forgot replying!
So, it's over... what did you think?
YORERU Sep 6, 2014 11:48 PM
That's true, I originally thought this would be longer... I really hope it won't be rushed, but I'm still confident. I'm curious to know how they're gonna do it, though.

They are definitely undenrdeveloped, but they still managed to make them likeable, somehow. I really think it's completely on purpose though, I just hope it won't backfire...

It's just too bad to think it's gonna end soon, when it has a huge potential for character development and story too. Reminds me of Sakamichi no Apollon: It was really good, but it ended too soon. It's just that Sakamichi was different from what I was expecting, and Zankyou isn't; it somehow lives up to my expectations, in a good way!

Yeah pretty slow episode. At least we get some Shibasaki development, which is always welcome. Hopefully next week surprises me too.

No problem man, MAL is about the only thing I respond to quickly. I'm horrible with text and e-mails usually, so I'm used to late replies (although your reply was in no ways late)
pakoko Sep 4, 2014 11:56 AM
Haha well I've got a long ways to go then, huh :P

What'd you think about the latest ZnT?
pakoko Sep 3, 2014 10:46 PM
Lol good to know that you do :|

Hmm interesting, I actually didn't know about Mamoru Oshii until now because he seems to have directed much older shows. But I'm also more interested now that Yoko Kanno's involved :P

Oh wow there's so many versions. From what I see though, there are three main ones: Ghost in the Shell + Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence; Two seasons of Ghost in the Shell; and Ghost in the Shell: Arise. Which one should I start with?

Lol I've yet to watch the series. After watching Higashi no Eden, which was written by the same writer, I think I've been unconsciously avoiding GitS even if I know that it's one of the best anime out there. I'm sure I'll get to it eventually though.

Have fun :)

lol so true. Although I've given up on saying anything of the sorts in MAL forums. Some MAL users take things way too seriously.
pakoko Sep 2, 2014 11:08 AM
You clever devil, you.

pakoko Sep 2, 2014 10:40 AM
Good luck watching over 9000 episodes of aria the animation. But remember to take it slow :P
YORERU Sep 1, 2014 12:19 PM
No problem! Thank you for finding the best one, haha.

I'm actually enjoying it a lot, it hasn't let me down until now! It's true the characters are still a bit under-developed, but I think this was their intention all along. What about you? Any complaints?
pakoko Aug 31, 2014 9:56 AM
Haha this happened around the same time last year, actually. It wasn't too big of a deal, but then soon after the site went under for a couple days so that was pretty scary. I think it should be fixed soon.
Farabeuf Aug 29, 2014 4:41 AM
You should definitely see them all, and in order 1.11, 2.22 and 3.33. The first one sticks very close to the original series, the second one is where the story begins to heavily variate and the third one takes you into completely uncharted territory. If I had to choose a favorite I'd have to say the second one, but they're all really good. The feels and pathos of the original series are just hard to match.

LIked you review. Very raw and honest.

Regarding the ending of the series, I've read several versions that make it hard to know for sure what really happened. From Anno having a breakdown, to budget issue,s to the TV episodes being what's happening inside Shinji's head during E of E. I've read some very convincing arguments for the TV series ending being an acceptance of instrumentality whilst E of E portrays Shinji rejecting it. I'm really curious about how Anno will end it in the Rebuild.
pakoko Aug 28, 2014 8:38 PM
Yeah not to mention they censor the blood and everything later on, so that kills the mood a lot too. Maybe I'll watch the uncensored version later on and see if the gory scenes are a little more gripping.

Thanks man I appreciate the encouraging words. Don't be afraid to call me out ever if our opinions differ though.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
