SORRYYY! I've been extremely busy with polishing my English and German, and also I've been just literally procrastinating on my social life :(
I was also an avid gamer, at that time minecraft
AYEEE, Minecraft is my all-time favorite game! I've been playing it for like 9 years since I was 9-10. I mean, I play it periodically, like one or two big binge-sessions a year, but still!
I spent about 2 years with only my videogame and cellphone, so during that time I didn't watch any anime
HAHAHA, PATHETIC! I've been watching anime on my cellphone for like 3 years now since my laptop bust and I never got another one. I also have a PC, but I don't want to watch anime on the PC because parents can walk in anytime and see what's on the screen and I don't want that, so when I try to watch anime on the PC, I constantly feel paranoid and uncomfortable.
But wow, 2 years with only a game console and a cellphone? WOW, I've never had a game console, but I definitly can't imagine a life without a computer.
But yeah, overall it was a good story. I would even say touching in a way, because you found the love you had lost years ago :)
there's this guy that makes videos about the most bizarre stuff that happened on reddit...my ''favourite'' would be the final fantasy house
Wait, you mean Fredrik Knudsen and his Down the Rabbit Hole series?
maybe when get to it again you'll like it more
Yeah, probably. I was probably just not in the mood for that genre that day (or even that hour) when I tried to watch it.
just today I finished Horimiya, which is good but far from what toradora is.
The main pair's storyline was great, but the other pairs that took up more than half of the anime were quite boring.
domestic girlfriend, did like but it was not the thing I was looking for
LMAO :) Wait, so you liked the romance aspect of Toradora? Or the comedic? Or the slice of life?
when I was playing resident evil 2, the only time of the day Id play were the mornings haha
Hahaha, when I was young and dumb (3 months ago) I thought horrors are supposed to be experienced in the dark of the night, but naaah, fuck that shit. I watched horror movies at night a few times and then I was scared and felt uncomfortable until the sun would come out. I do like all sorts of negative feelings that I get from animanga and other stuff, like sadness, but being scared feels almost like a torture, and I don't like that :(
maybe it's time to check your beloved 10 haha.
It seems it wasn't the time haha
if you don't get to answer until 25, merry christmas.
Hahaha, I like how optimistic you were back then. I'm actually also an optimist and I absolutely can't stand when pessimists say that tHeY aRe aCtUaLlY rEaLiStS.
But yeah, thanks and belated (I guess?) Merry Christmas! And also, belated Happy New Year!
>> thanks for replying!
>> I'm still getting into anime/manga myself, so I appreciate you taking your time to explain and recommend stuff :)
It's my pleasure! :)
Oh okay, maybe it negates that part of my speculations. Btw, how come so that you have watched 40 titles in 7 years? I'm guessing you've taken a few year break before?
Hahaha, I've watched It with my friends and it's the only horror movie we've watched together (we also tried to watch It 2 when it came out, but we were talking, eating and drinking, we weren't paying much attention to the movie, so we decided to turn it off). It seems like all non-horror-fans have watched It. Anyway, fuck horrors, they're scary, but most importantly it's hard to sleep after because I get scared of the dark. I tried to embrace horror movies 2 months ago and get into them, but I watched 3 movies and it seemed like I'm not really into being scared and struggling to sleep after lol
Lol, I actually also wanted to drop Toradora after 2 episodes and... I dropped it. But I will definitely try it again eventually, that's why I haven't added it to my "Dropped" list.
>> I'll give it a go to your beloved 10
Btw, my brother is kinda into horror movies and right now he's watching Higurashi (to check out "my beloved 10" hahaha). He tried to watch it in the darkness and then he went to sleep, but he ended up really struggling to sleep, so he's decided to watch it in the daytime and I'd also recommend you to do so.
>> I browsed your list and liked most of your ratings
Thanks, and wow, cool, we have 72% affinity
So, first of all, be aware that my rating system has been a bit unstable lately (though it always has been lol, as it should be) and I'm kinda trying to find some 10/10 anime other than Higurashi, so it's not like I think "Higurashi is peak fiction and nothing will ever come even close", though it is my favorite piece of fiction so far.
So, if I'd recommend it to anyone? I think there are titles with more wide appeal, like Fullmetal Alchemist for example, but I'd still recommend to most people to try Higurashi.
I pretty much hate live-action horror movies, but I love Higurashi. I think horror in live-action and horror in anime (or in animation in general for that matter) are two very different things. So it doesn't really matter if you like horror movies or not.
And I see you've given AoT a bunch of 8s. Most importantly you liked the first season: the slowest and the most horrorish season (though AoT is not really a horror). That's a good indicator because Higurashi is a bit slow anime.
You also liked Toradora. Higurashi is like a mix of light slice of life comedy and mystery horror, so the fact that you're able to enjoy slice of life is a good indicator.
So yeah, I think you definitely might give it a shot, but be patient with it, don't rush to drop it after 2 episodes or smth. And remember that everything above are all just speculations, they don't really predict if you'll like the show or not.
The last actual positive reviews I did were the live action film Clue, The Yuru Camp OVA Heya Camp, The Non Non Biyori film, Wasurenagumo & Onna Senshi Efe & Jira: Gude no Monshou. And that's going back to the end of July. Most of my reviews lately have covered mediocre stuff.
