Something unique to the Anime Guild has been our Power Rankings Committee. We have done some retooling recently to make the feature more accommodating for more of our members to participate. There are now two different classes (Casual Class- 5 show voting and Titan Class- 10 show voting). If you are interesting in participating in the 2016 Winter Season please sign-up here http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1456124

Then for the main event of the year, is the inaugural 2015 Anime Trivia Challenge. Where you can test your knowledge of what happened in this year of anime. Will you be the one with the biggest Anime IQ? Will you be our Champion? Thread link is right here http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1456288

Our Head Admin is a big dork for personality tests and personality psychology and at the Anime Guild we have several threads dedicated to personality tests like Myers Briggs 16 Personalities, Enneagram Personality Test, and What is YOUR Business Cultural Profile?. So please share your results and entertain our head admin (what a loser right?).

Hello, and thanks for reading the second edition of the Anime Guild's Newsletter!

We are proud to announce that we’ve introduced several new features to our line-up of great activities =).

Our first new feature is our Seasonal Opening Competition. We at the Anime Guild provide a great assortment of Seasonal Activities and we believe that this will be a great addition to the line-up. So if you’re a huge fan of openings make sure you pay attention to the rest of our tournament -.^.

Secondly we are attempting to incorporate more Manga to our club with our Weekly Manga Discussion. Where you members vote upon what manga to read for the week and then can discuss that with other members of the club.

Lastly we have something a little different in our Seasonal Power Rankings where we take a group of people AND SHOVE THEM INTO A STEEL CAGE TO FIGHT IT OUT! Nah seems too violent if you ask me. We’ve set up a power ranking committee that will come together and discuss which x-amount of anime to watch per season and rank them from 1 to 10-15 every 3 weeks during the course of that season. Please enjoy our masochism =p. Second Edition should be posted on May 18th.

We are now halfway through the Spring 2015 Season and our Seasonal Discussion continues to grow as one of the more popular activities in the club. Please join the discussion if you want to journey with us to the climaxes of the various shows =O.

Then of course we still have our Simulwatches every week, our Steam Group, and Skype Group from our first newsletter ^.^.

~Thanks for reading and have a nice day~

Not to mention you've watch almost 700 shows in your long tenure as an anime fan.
Let's see here, we have a 70% compatibility
With 123 shows shared...basically almost my whole list.
and 23 same ratings on shows with a 1.2 score differential.
Not to bad if you ask me ^.^

Indeed the end to Mirai Nikki is sad :'3 but it's worth it. Also since you haven't finished SAO try finishing it.....it's my second favorite anime right after Mirai Nikki
MEanimaniac1 Jan 18, 2013 1:27 AM
About your post...I have seen and read the Mirai Nikki anime and manga. The anime is a direct copy of the anime, so to me it was perfect. I also want to say it's my favorite aniime.

Not a problem!
Hopefully you'll love Mawaru Penguindrum :)
It will start out kind of weird, well it will get weirder, but the story really will unravel before you too~

Enjoy and good luck on finding other good gems! ^^

desiprince,

We had a dictator of a president before who even stopped the last five episodes of Voltes V because he felt that it would incite rebellion or something. >,<

Our local dubs are way better than most english dubs (where the voices can sound forced and overhyped). In fairness, our local talents were worse during the first two or three years, but improved very quickly. (Maybe because they don't think of it as "just a cartoon".) Of course, I still prefer subtitles. Our voice dubbers might be good, but the script translators localize terms and names too much and I pretty much despise that.

I first learned BASIC on an Apple II, my uncle's machine when he was still in college. I would visit my grandparents during summer vacation and he would teach me a couple of commands. The rest of the year had me scribbling ideas on paper.

In high school, I learned assembly language because a classmate was into it. I had to content myself with DOS DEBUG for a while since that's all I had before someone from another section gave me a copy of MASM. I also learned C after a year.

In college, I learned Pascal. I learned more C. I dropped out (due to health problems) so I never understood Java--I was in the middle of such a class. I learned C++ and VB at work. I was terrible at following someone else's design so I eventually quit.

I've been a bum ever since. "Retired entrepreneur" is a nice euphemism for it. ~,~'

I'm moderately shaky with javascript and PHP. I'm currently trying to design a website.

desiprince,

Fan fiction was my gateway to anime and manga. (I sometimes miss reading those. I did come across some nicely written ones before.) Ranma 1/2 was one of my earliest addictions. (I've seen giant robot shows in my childhood, but I didn't know they were anime back then.)

I can't get the feel for object oriented programming. I somewhat understand the overall theory, but I don't know how to apply it in practice. :( Furthermore, all those confusing contradictory tutorials I read from the internet rendered my previously usable procedural programming stock knowledge into a mess. ~,~'

What programming languages do you use now and already know? :)

desiprince,

I began reading Naruto in 2001 (back when it wasn't mainstream yet) and I got hooked. Years pass, more characters get introduced and the manga eventually became too convoluted for my taste. I'll continue reading again someday. >,<

Are you a hobbyist coder, too? I'm often on the lookout for people I can exchange amateur/novelty programming ideas with. ^o^
