If I could sum up how I like my anime, I would say that the more bittersweet and sad, the better. Though I do enjoy laughing so much I split my sides, that's cool too, I guess. Also, the less ecchi, fanservice and sexualisation, the merrier, these things are an instant letdown for me, and a major reason for me to give a lower score to an anime.Wholesomeness>>>>> Also, I think I have a knack for 2000s anime. Don't know, there's something about them that is very charming
My anime history (cuz why not, I already have it on my phone notes)
STORY TIME BABY Back when I was a teeny-tiny human, my parents would NOT let me and my older brother watch anime of any sorts, specially Dragon Ball, Pokémon and Naruto, because they deemed it to be too violent and reckless for our smol innocent brains (don't ask about why Pokémon). Yet, funnily enough, they would let us play Metal Slug on the PS1. Then, in 2010/2011 (god knows why or how) my brother managed to get his hands on the first 5 volumes of Naruto during a book convention, and although that wasnt anybody's intention, my love for this manga-anime stuff birthed.
It was a delight reading Naruto's story and artwork, and it is a massive understatement to say that I was addicted to Naruto, and I wanted oh so desperately to watch the forbidden anime, so I did what any 2000's kid in their right mind with access to the Internet would do: I slapped "Naruto" in Youtube's search bar and let the winds guide me, to which they bestowed upon myself the best AMV in mankind: "Naruto x Sasuke The Final Countdown", and my oh my was I aching for more. I knew for a fact that Cartoon Network would air anime during its schedule, and expecting to meet my good ol' pal Naruto, I turned on the TV only to instead meet Bakugan, and the rest is history. In 2013, I would venture for the first time on illegal anime sites (cuz there were little to none legally here in Brazil) and eventually meet Bleach (which made me a die-hard fan for years) and some other animes, but my interest would die rather quickly, not even lasting until 2014.
Then, in early-2018, my friend approached me and literally just said "hey, um, watch 'Your Name.', I think you will like it" and I was like yeah, sure, why not. Of course, as any friends' recommendations go, I would only search it up after a couple months (lmao), and while I did find it on Netflix, I was met with immesurable disappoinment and my day was ruined when I discovered it was actually an anime. But I still gave it a try, my friend recommended it, after all. Also, some months prior, I had beaten Nier: Automata (best game ever btw) and FFXV, so yeah, let's give it a shot, why not.
...
OH MY GOD, IS YOUR NAME GOOD, OH MAH GAH, I CRIED FIVE TIMES IN MY FIRST WATCH MAN. Your Name. was a great stepping stone for me to get back at anime, and up until now, I've felt no urges to stop watching anime. Taking some time to avoid burnout, or even feeling burnt out? Yeah, it happens, but I think I will always come back to it, just like League players who can't stop playing it, no matter how much they hate the game.
And now to my actual anime history list
------------
These are all by my start date Purple = finished all seasons available for the anime when I started it(may or may not have continued watching subsequent seasons that launched after my start date) Orange = sorted anime(if I can't decide which anime to watch next, I will just slap the PTW list numbers on a RNG and let it decide for me) Red = dropped anime Underlined = on hold
