There are so many things out there that are truly detestable and actually harm us. But, people seem to focus on harmless things like other people's gender identity and sexuality. It's all so stupid!
Oh, that manga! I have read a few chapters, but I never watched its anime adaptation. The manga was kind of surreal, and I really wanted to know what was going on. Not sure why I stopped reading it.
It's so sad how many manga authors die early. Japan really needs to respect their creators more, and give them proper breaks and salary.
The movie isn't really that negative. But, it is very beautifully tragic. It shows us a certain series of events from different POVs, and lets us come to our own conclusion. It's one of those rare films that are truly poetic and artistic. (At least, I found it that way. Some people, including my friend, didn't connect to it as much as I did. lol)
They're my favourite too! lol Both of them are so chaotic and kind of funny. The other characters are too wrapped up in love stories, but these two are just going through actual personal growth. I think I like the dead guy too, who is now alive again, I think.
Yeah, a lot of anime/manga fans are so toxic. It's like a cult!
As much as I hate it, I have to understand the scums as well, because I am surrounded by them! lol I am from an extremely closed-minded place. Sometimes, some people notice they're being a scumbag, but their pride won't let them accept it and change. I want to see how I can help them change, and be more open-minded and accepting.
I am not trans, so don't take what I say as the complete truth. Basically, when I researched de-transitioning, most people—who reversed their gender reassignment—had done it because they were heavily discriminated against, and not because they weren't trans. There were some who weren't trans, and among them, some turned out to be cis, while some others turned out to be non-binary.
I didn't mean non-binary people don't do gender reassignment (I think that's what it's called?) I think some of them do do it. But, I have mostly seen them do a mild version of it, where they just make themselves androgynous.
I want them cancelled too, but there's an audience for it, so they will keep getting made. But, I wish Japan made more variety in anime, so that we won't be forced to look at loli and isekai all the time. It's not like Japan doesn't have good stories. Their manga, novels and live action stuff are so varied and rich in storytelling. I can't understand why they are not willing to do something similar with anime. Have you seen the Japanese film called "Kaibutsu" (Monster)? I wish we had anime that did something similar.
Sorry for replying so late. MAL has recently been filled with homophobic losers, and I get overwhelmed when I open this site. lol So, I don't stay here for too long. I just update a manga or two, and disappear. Just looking at MAL homepage frustrates me.
Just the fact that there are people out there who are willing to change their bodies so much despite the possible health complications and discrimination is usually proof enough for me that trans people aren't lying. I have heard of trans people who have detransitioned, and a lot of them said they did it not because they aren't trans, but because people treated them poorly. And, some just said that they were actually non-binary, which meant they got gender dysphoria in either body.
I forgot about the existence of The Umbrella Academy! lol I am also waiting for its last season.
Has any show you were enjoying ever been cancelled midway? lol I really enjoyed "Shadow and Bone" and "The Bastard Son and The Devil Himself", but both got cancelled, and it was sad.
When that Trans drama was happening with J. K. Rowling, I didn't think it was a big deal at first. The books were very heteronormative and racist, but what book from that time wasn't? I really believed J. K. Rowling was someone who would do her research and learn. But, instead, she became so transphobic, and spread so much misinformation that I could no longer open her book and see a magical world where everyone is special.
Netflix has some nice shows, but I couldn't enjoy Wednesday at all. I didn't even make it to episode 3. lol
Oh, 2001! That makes sense. People would really make shows that lasted 10 seasons in the past. Now, we can't even have 3 seasons unless we're extremely lucky.
I didn't know there was a show about teenaged Superman. I think there is an Indian show that is just a copy of Superman, called Shaktimaan.
AI can be a fun thing to play with, but I don't think it should be anything more than a play thing. It feeds on other's works, and makes a soulless copy, and I hate that people are trying to replace actual humans using AI. The use of AI got so bad that writers and actors in Hollywood ended up going on months long strike!
Harry and Snape? Really? lol How can you ask me not to ask anything after that shocking info?
I agree, everyone is problematic. Everyone is growing, so we are all flawed beings with very "cancellable" parts. lol But, in case of J. K. Rowling, she actively spreads misinformation about a vulnerable group like trans people, and has used her platform to cause serious harm. Because of this, I can't look at her stories the same way any more. She even has a book with anti trans propaganda she wrote under the pseudo name Robert Galbraith.
I also don't know much about the comics. My knowledge of the Addams Family mostly comes from some of the episodes of the black-and-white TV series that I'd found on YouTube, and the two films. They both did an amazing job capturing the weirdness and hilarity. Netflix took everything good about the story away from it, which was sad. Though, I won't say it ruined the story for me, because it didn't really feel canon at all. lol
I have never heard of "Smallville". But, damn, 10 seasons? How old is that show? These days, shows getting even a third season feels unusual.
I hate how people are using AI these days to replace artists, authors, poets and musicians; it's just sad. The world is getting so soulless that I look alive in comparison!
I had also written a Harry Potter fanfic!! lol But, my brain kept resisting J.K. Rowling's characters, since they weren't mine. Recently, I don't like Harry Potter any more. The author has been behaving like a massive knobhead!
I like the story about the creation of the novel Frankenstein more than the actual book. When the world was submerged in a year long winter because of a volcanic eruption, and people and animals were dying with hunger, a teenaged girl and a bisexual man just changed English literature forever! lol One created modern SciFi, and the other created sexy vampires!
About Netflix's Wednesday—I couldn't finish it. I like the old Addams Family, and how creepy and kooky they all were. They never explained themselves; they didn't need to. They were fine as they were. But, Netflix tries to fix these characters, and even sends Wednesday to therapy, and calls her a "Goth girl"!
Yeah, the villains are great. It's most likely because the modern society is filled with people that people from the past would consider deviants! haha
I hate that game too! I wanna punish the people who created it.
Yeah, they're fake, but still fun. It's no different from a movie or a magic show, we only need to believe it's real through the duration of our watch. lol
I have tried writing fan fiction a few times before, but I am pretty bad at it. My mind resists writing about characters created by other authors. I can write original short stories, but fan fic is too hard! Still, I wanna try it. Sounds like a fun way to interact with a story I like.
Oh my god! Frankenstein? I have tried reading that too, but I never could. It's so damn boring! I even tried its audiobook, but I still couldn't do it. Are you enjoying it? I heard it was written by a 19 year old.
Yeah, people in movies can be annoying. Sometimes, some of them are so perfect that I can't stand them! lol I like people more when they're flawed, because that makes me feel at ease.
Oh! I have seen those too! They are so obviously fake, but it's presented in a way that they feel believable when I am watching.
You published there? That's so cool! I have been wanting to make a fanfic of a book series I'd read, because there are a few things that I wish went differently.
"The Song of Achilles" is so poetic!! I did feel like the book got a bit boring in the second half, but towards the end, it was a rollercoaster of emotions that had me crying for days. lmao
I am confused: you want something without people? So, you want stuff with animals or aliens instead?
I think it's great when we can laugh. I'd laugh too if I had to call someone master or if I got called master. It's just adult games. lol
I feel like 90's kids have a very odd kind of laziness. We're not sitting around, doing nothing. The internet has made it so that even when we are just sitting round, we're still doing something. Like watching celebrity videos, useless science videos, looking at how-to articles of things we have no intention of doing, etc. So, we end up in a constant state of overwhelm. Once, I read a WikiHow article about how to make people think you're a werewolf. Who even wrote that! lol
Oh my god!! I have never met someone who knows about Nifty!! I also read random stuff from there!
A lot of gay movies are sad, and it's annoying! Most of them show gay people as completely powerless. I don't mind sad movies, but it doesn't need to show gay people as people with no agency. Have you read "The Song of Achilles"? That's one story where despite the tragedy, it's also empowering.
Yeah, everything is too sexualised! And, everything is too romanticised too. I wanna see stuff where no romance exists. At all. No crushes. No hints. Nothing!
I think there is a type of security people can feel when they are able to completely submit to someone, or completely dominate someone, and still are loved and respected. I also think that when people let out their dom/sub fantasies in bed with consent, they are less likely to accept actual abuse. And, it's also not boring! lol So, I can kind of understand the love for intense stuff. I like some intense stuff too, but Tagame is still too much for me at the moment. haha
Oh, I am lazy too. I am just lazy in an odd way. When I am too bored to do anything, I draw. That's probably how I get any practice at all! lol
I also read and watch mostly gay stuff. I have been on a hunt for gay stories that are neither gay rights stories (like what we see from Western media) or BL stories (like what we see from East Asian media). I want to see gay people just existing and being people, and also the main characters. The number of stories that fit just these two simple criteria is so small. Almost every gay story out there is made with straight people in mind as the target audience! (┬┬﹏┬┬) So sad!
I think Tagame mangas are aimed at an older gay male audience who want more than just vanilla relationships. One day, I will grow old and become his audience. Maybe. lol
If you can use pencil and paper, using tablets shouldn't be hard. It feels a bit weird at first, but you'll get used to it immediately. The actual problem with tablets is the price!! They cost too much!!!(┬┬﹏┬┬)
English is not my first language either, but I generally am able to read a lot of chapters in a day. That is, if I am in the mood to read. lol If I am not in the mood, I also see gibberish!
I also didn't think I'd like that manga as much as I did. It's not BL, so I don't know if it has any actual gay scenes. But, it's on MRM, so I hope there is going to be some gay. I want more gay horror and thriller! lol
I had looked up Tagame's other works after finishing "Otouto no Otto". I was shocked! So not wholesome!!! But, I love that manga. It had something so honest and vulnerable.
Thank you! I have kind of been wanting to replace that with better drawings, since I had drawn that pretty roughly. But, even that took me two hours! If I make a proper set of drawings, it would be a nightmare! lol
About "Kimi ni Nidome no Sayonara wo"—I don't know how many chapters it has or will have. I haven't read it in a few months. This may sound stupid, but I want to binge a large number of its chapters at once! The way it develops makes it very hard to wait for new chapters!!! It's so good!
