░█░▐░█▐▄█▐░█▐▐▄▄▄█▐▄█▐▄█ , you're making me blush.
Very simply put, it's a tremendous capital gamble. This will make or break the nation. This information isn't something that seems easy to come across being on the other side of the world. I assume that's intentional. From what I read of Icelandic sources, while being very much an internationally minded community, there's a large vein of 'us and them'. Things you tell each other and things you don't tell foreigners. As an Australian I can't assert too much without being hypocritical though.
Being extremely frank this kind of information could be used to commit international fraud or blackmail of many different parties. I've never gone so far as to commit corporate terrorism myself though. I had to probe serverside to get some IR reports I was after, which is somewhat concerning. Investigating Verne Global resulted in some, perhaps predictably, purposeful scapegoating and tax evasion in Liechtenstein.
There are quite a few 'cons' here. But very much still a sub-culture and a poor quality one at that. Very few people actually go to the bother of learning Japanese or visiting, even when this is made particularly easy for Australians. I have not ever met someone with the same power level as me, but I know of some online. I think I would be perhaps top 20 in Australia. In Iceland, it would take perhaps less to become king? I saw hfinity in your friends list, and I've seen some other Icelanders on MAL. In fact I think there was even a Iceland club and a Iceland anime IRC. Few IRC users in Australia.
Iceland would be particularly terrible for shipping I would guess, at least for anything non-Europe. I can usually get things for a dollar or two from hong kong or singapore which is particularly convenient, though care of packaging, of product, etc is not so good. There is 'madman' in Australia that sells a lot of dubs I think, but I've never bought a dub in my life.
