Have a serious question , does log horizon S2 drops in quality ? Everyone seems to dislike it more often, what's the deal ?
I do not give much importance to the way they write songs together, since you could change it for any other passion and the thing would be the same. I give more importance to how they relate as characters instead of how they do in the passion of the day.
I see it more as:
- I like music.
-Seriously? Me too
- Do you want to be friends and make songs together?
-Okay
* They make songs together *
That's all. I do not see anything special about that (Until chapter 7).
That's why I say that your interactions are generic in my review.
Look, summarizing everything, just answer me this:
How does Carole and Tuesday's interaction differ from your typical relationship of people with the same dream who work together in that dream to be great or to be... whatever?
P.S: Going back to see the chapters, I noticed that the guy who teaches them to do their greeting in chapter 7, is the same guy in chapter 2. It has nothing to do with the subject, I just noticed it.
- Their personalities are not highlighted or exploited unlike things like Ping Pong the Animation or Ashita no Joe (Neither is there psychological introspection as in these 2 mentioned or as in NANA).
Okay, I keep all that until chapter 7 where there is true chemistry between these characters. It was fun, both were more humanized, highlighted their characterizations and changed their dynamics; That's good interaction. Why did not the anime run it like that from the first chapter? I wonder xD?
"That is possibly (...) becomes friends" I ... I'm not going to debate that, you may be right but the series just does not exploit that. You can maintain the characterization of the protagonists but change their passion (painting, cooking, any sport, etc) and the thing would be the same.
When I say substance, I mean that it's something out of the ordinary or that it is worth mentioning. I did not find any of that in their interactions, in fact, I found it disappointing for a show where 2 characters are the main focus. And yes, I know that their meeting and the way they forge their friendship makes sense in the context of the series and is easily a realistic scenario but this does not mean that everything I said in the previous answer is not true.
The series, again, does not exploit the personalities of the protagonists. It is assumed that the interactions highlight the personalities of the characters, humanizes them, makes the thing more entertaining and above all they must evolve over time; I did not see any of that, or rather, nothing remarkable.
