Yeah, that made it a bit better for sure :P My main struggle with it is the fact that it was a normal practice for their family, so it was almost expected for them to be together and that seemed a bit off to me. We still don't know where that started, actually, since I'm guessing it was before Haruka and Juuri.

But I really like Kaname's backstory as the Ancestor so I enjoyed that revelation, it helped me gain an appreciation for his character that I honestly didn't have before. I mean, his story is so sad.

Sorry this response is so late! I've been busy getting ready for Christmas, hehe. :D See, I watched the first season of the anime first, and I had read spoilers about what happened next in the manga so I already knew about Kaname being Yuuki's brother before I got to that part in the manga. And in the anime they hadn't really gotten into Yuuki's mysterious past much, so I didn't put the pieces together about who Kaname was to her.

The incest part of Yume really turned me off at first, I mean I've read incest in fiction before but with VK it was kind of thrown at you, you weren't really prepared for them to be siblings AND expect to have a romantic relationship. Usually you either know before starting the story, or it slowly builds up to that and you're more capable of accepting it, you've already grown attached to the characters so you want them to just be happy anyway. (Maybe my reaction would have been different if I shipped them?)

It stopped bothering me though lol it was just squicky for me at first because of how the scenes played out. Did it bother you at all initially? I know some Yume fans were kind of "o_O" about it but just shrugged it off because they figured Kaname and Yuuki wanted to be together, that was enough.

Yes I noticed he had a lot of Japanese fans. Its sad they don't go on English forums but they already have their own like Baidu. I think hino will have to do Kaname justice as he is so popular where she comes from.

Oh your dann! :D I saw you on a couple of times and I should thank you for liking several of my posts. ^^ And its okay about not being active, whenever you get a chance come on and have a look around, and maybe post. :) We all talk in the chat box too from time to time.

A teacher? Wow, my mum's a teacher, though she's one of English literature. I bet its fun though I know how the workload can get hectic when your marking etc. What age group do you teach? Are you college or high school? Aww thanks. History comes naturally to me it seems. I really have a passion for it.

:D I think Kaname may have felt with him leaving it may turn out with Yuuki going to Zero and their relationship developing. He could have planned it as he does want her happy and safe. He knows Zero can protect her. I just wish he'd have let Yuuki make the decision rather then him pushing her away. :( Yes I believe he did hesitate due to Yuuki, I think he felt he had a shot at a happy life but things started happening that he knew he had to sort out.

I think with Rido we may get some more of him in the coming chapters. Just as he's been shown to still be connected to Kaname. I do wonder if Rido may have some bearing on future events.

Hey! :D Its lovely to meet another Kaname fan. There doesn't seem to be a lot of us recently. :(

Ooo sky-sis, she mentioned she'd met another Yume fan who she had told to get in contact with me. :) I'm glad you did. <3 I hope we become friends too.

Wow Biology, you got to be smart then doing such a tough subject I remember doing it in college and it was not easy. I'm currently doing a History degree at University, I finish at the end of this year. :)

Thanks for joining Only You!!!!! I really hope you enjoy the place and do feel free to get involved in discussions. None of us bite I promise. :D May I ask what your account name is on there?

With Chapter 88 I felt very sad for Kaname just as he witnessed something that most likely broke his heart to see. :( But some hope with him is, that if Isaya is agreeing with his plan then his reasons and plan aren't as bad as what its made out to be. I really hope we get it shown how he's been doing it for good reasons. I want him to get redemption. I'm a bit put out with Yuuki recently if I'm honest. Not a big fan of her's to begin with but at the end of this chapter I feel she was wrong and out of line to do to Zero what she did. It was basically a betrayal, and she was the one person he trusted too so I see some permanent damage now between them. Whats good now is Yuuki is on her own and I feel this is the time when she can start to grow, and also this gives Yume the opportunity to talk without anyone around. I always felt Yuuki held back when speaking to kaname in front of others, so she won't have to now. What did you think of the chapter?
underthesamesky Nov 23, 2012 8:45 PM
I read it! :D Even though it was really sad and full of angst, I actually liked it, it wasn't at all what I expected from this chapter so it was interesting. The possibility of a sad ending is definitely there, and we've definitely been building up to one, but hopefully Hino will have somewhat of a happy ending. Every character has been miserable and screwed over at least twice in this series, so I think breaking the cycle and giving people some happiness would be good. There's also that "deep dark forest," metaphor that Hino keeps mentioning. It's supposed to symbolize the suffering people go through, and "grasping the sunlight" is overcoming that or finding happiness. So, I think that's what she wants for her characters. (I hope D: )

Mine is: http://agirlnamedblessed.deviantart.com/

I just have two wallpapers up that I did, and I don't draw so there's no art haha. But I have a lot of VK art faved x3 I added you to my watch list!

I'm hoping to start reading Naruto soon, but I've been reading a lot of shoujo lately so it's on hold hehe. I'm looking forward to the new VK chapter since it's coming out soon. It's the last chapter of the volume (they're usually pretty good!) and the volume cover for Volume 17 should be released so we'll get a new pretty art scan :D

You're very welcome! ^^ And ooh, what's your deviantart account? I don't really use mine a lot, though I add art that I like to my favourites from time to time and it's good for keeping track of resources I like for making graphics. (Like wallpapers and stuff)

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that way about Naruto xD It actually is a very good story, I'm so attached to it now. I can see why it's so popular.

Aww yes we can, I sent the request now. ^^ What other series besides VK do you enjoy reading (or watching, for anime) ? One of my guilty pleasures is Naruto, I never expected to like it but it's just... so good ;__; I haven't read the manga yet, though, just watched the anime.

Oh, and regarding your previous comments on my profile, I'm glad you liked the forum! :D There's a lot of Yume forums out there, but I know that one in particular has a really nice group of fans, so I thought you might like it!
underthesamesky Sep 26, 2012 6:13 PM
I just wanted to apologize if I came off a little too strongly with my opinion before on the VK forum, but thank you for having a respectful response anyway. ^^ I don't know if you've been involved in the Vampire Knight fandom elsewhere, but some people can get really rude and it's hard not to let that rub off on you sometimes. :/ Plus I always find it so sad when people are frustrated with this series, since I like it a lot and it seems like a lot of fans on here are negative about VK >.<

If you like Yume, one of my good friends is also a Yume fan and owns a Yume forum :D It's a good place for keeping up to date on the manga, and of course there's a lot of people who would share similar views as you.

The forum: http://s13.zetaboards.com/Only_You_Yume/index/

And my Yume friend here on MAL, if you feel like chatting with a fellow Yume lol: http://myanimelist.net/profile/AnyaKuran

I promise she's really nice! xD Anyway, thanks again for being respectful toward me! :D
