I'm a teenager who enjoys lame jokes. I could be considered an "otaku" in both senses of the word, as I both enjoy Japanese media and I have a tendency to forgo going outside or socializing in favor of indulging in anime/manga and games, but I only have a casual or slightly-above-casual knowledge of it.
I'm very relaxed in my tastes, and enjoy almost everything, but I
try to be unbiased and somewhat critical in my ratings, so I could absolutely love a series but give it a rating that doesn't reflect that, or even give a series a higher rating than I found entertainment in it. I enjoy series ranging from comedic to dramatic, pure to terribly impure, light to dark, slice-of-life to fantasy to sci-fi, and so on. Non-romance, het romance, girls love, and boys love are all good in my book, too (though, I
am a massive shipper of pretty much anything, including so-called "crack" ships). There are some series I either don't like, care for, or want to watch/read, but it's mainly because they don't appeal to me.
My goal is more or less to read/watch every series that looks interesting, but I'm a terrible procrastinator.
I prefer to read/watch the source material, if it's available, before/instead of watching or reading an adaption, as I started watching anime back in 2011/2012 or so, and anime adaptions weren't particularly well-known for being faithful; while I don't know whether that's still a thing or not, due to many modern anime series only having 12 episodes, I don't trust them. This applies to manga adaptions of anime, too, but anime adaptions of manga are far more infamous and easier to find.
