I first got into anime during my first semester of college. I was starting to feel a little nostalgic so I read a lot of the different books I used to read when I was younger. That was great and I had finished them all very quickly so I thought, "What's next?" I remembered loving to watch DBZ when I was a kid, I was not able to see them all because of the very strange times they would come on. So I decided to watch that entire series and I LOVED it! Anime was love at first sight so I began to watch all different types of anime. I could have never imagined that there are so many different kinds. The general populations doesn't have a clear sense of what anime is about. They believe that anime is for kids and it's about people yelling and shooting colored beams for 100s of episodes. That was my first impression of anime as well but I was completely wrong. Most anime is not a bunch of little kiddy shows, some can be quite intense. That is what got me into anime and I don't ever plan on stopping!
