Ah, school... I'll be back in January barring unforseen circumstances. Nothing like full-time college to eat up any semblance of free time, especially since I'll be taking a bunch of hard classes (calc and sciences, welp). I'm trying to enjoy all the free time while I still can... hope you get a chance to do some fun stuff soon!
Hey! I just figured I'd let you know I finished Shinsekai Yori, and holy cow, what a good show. That show was so heartwrenching and I don't know what to do now that it's over! D: I'm like a mental puddle of tears, lol.
Yeah, there are so many games for the ps3. Even I haven't played as many as I want to! You can get the ps2 versions of persona 3 and 4 on there too before 5 comes out, so yeah, go with that one, haha. I just see you really liking the series! :D I can't wait until you get one!
Oh gosh, there are soooo many games, where to begin... (you just opened pandora's box lol). I'll try to be more general because I'm not sure exactly what genre you'd prefer.
I'm not super huge on pc gaming myself, but prefer console gaming. I was always afraid growing up if I ever started an MMORPG it would be a huge time sink and be really expensive with the monthly fees, so I don't recommend playing Final Fantasy XIV or anything like that! I have played some PC games though, just not high end stuff. >.<
Humble Bundles are a really great way to get access to Steam games, though they do start to recycle games after a while. I think there's a way in which you can even steam share games with friends (if you're new at this might as well take advantage of your friends owning all these games! lol). For specific PC recs I loved To The Moon. I highly recommend that game.
As for console... I dunno how comfortable you are with emulating, but the DS I find to be the best library of games overall. I ended up buying a 3DS mostly to play DS games when I was taking a break from gaming, haha. But if you're building a desktop, you could probably emulate DS games with no problem (not sure of the money situation or if you're very attached to physical copies). Some DS recommendations are 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors (a personal favorite), the Ace Attorney games (very charming, and there's like 5 DS games for the system haha), and the Layton games (if you like puzzles, it's pretty good). Course there are a bunch others but I don't wanna overwhelm you :P Oh if you get a 3DS we can play Smash when it comes out in a week too! That's what everyone will be playing in the near future haha.
The best home console to get is a little tricky. The new gen is ps4/xbone/wiiu, but they're still very pricey considering how few games are out on the respective systems. I like having a Wii because it was easy to hack and you can play old Gamecube games on the earlier versions of the Wii. (I sound like some hacking wizard... I'm really not :P) But I really like having a ps3 too, because of the selection of old digital games available on the psn store. (Also persona 5 coming out... ahh you'd probably love persona 3 and 4!)
I hope that wasn't too long winded suggestion wise, haha. I could be more specific once you got a system on which games I really enjoyed.
Ahh shows that go downhill like that in quality are a bummer. I hear the same thing happened to Dexter, and that's why I never touched that series. (Then again, I'm a little squeamish around blood too... though not animated blood. I don't imagine the smell in animated blood haha.)
I got like 3 episodes in Orphan Black. It has an interesting premise, so I would say it's worth a spin. I just need to, y'know, actually watch it again, haha.
I really enjoyed Saiunkoku, so I'm a little biased there :P It's a really interesting show about a woman trying to get into politics in an era when women aren't allowed in politics. It's a bit slow, though, which is what turns most people off. I would give it a second shot!
Is Hannibal really good? I've seen Breaking Bad and liked that, but I know nobody who's seen Hannibal.
I'm not super big into shoujo (particularly ones that rely only on romance...), but I might give that one and the other 2 you mentioned a spin. It's so easy to watch a 12 (or even 24) episode anime series compared to most live action shows, which require more time. I still need to get through Orphan Black, and I think it's been 2 months since I watched the last episode... oops.
Anyway I'm loving Zankyou no Terror. I was kinda worried it was overhyped, but I'm finding it to be a more interesting Death Note type of show. I love when shows live up to the hype :D
Together we'll binge watch Psycho-Pass's second season in about 10 weeks! XD
I've seen a couple! I finished up Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun last night (seriously cute show) and Tokyo Ghoul (meh), and I'm starting Zankyou no Terror tonight and awaiting the finale of Free! (freenale? *cringes at own pun*).
What shows have you liked this summer? I might give some of them a spin this fall... I'm not seeing too many fall anime that interest me, and if there were, I'd probably watch them near the end of the season like I am now haha
Heheh quite a few on my favorites list are a bit... different, so just be prepared whenever you get around to them :P
Okay Shinsekai Yori will definitely be up the next time I'm in a sort of sappy mood or I don't know what to watch (which is frequently). I love emotional stuff that isn't done like terribly.
I'd say I'd look into some of the manga you've read but the only time I've read manga was in an accounting class. I dunno why, but anime is just easier for me to digest overall... maybe I just like color a lot haha
Wow, someone who I manage a high match percentage with on this site! I think it's the first time I've seen that! :D You have good taste just from your favorites, though I still need to see Shinsekai Yori... should that be my next to watch? It looks really good! :)

Do you play video games, by any chance?
