I get what you mean. Their folklore is very rich. If you want to learn about their history, don't watch anime about it. Reading books is the better option.
Lol xD That's very specific ^_^ Let's see...from the current airing ones, I think Dororo fits to some extent. Others that are also very good and completed are Ayakashi (+Mononoke), Noragami, xxxHOLiC and my personal favorite - Mushishi. I've also heard that Hoozuki no Reitetsu and Natsume Yuujinchou are very good.
I really want to visit France but it probably won't happen soon ^_^

I already have a bachelors degree in Software Engineering and I'm planning on going for a Software Architecture masters.
What kind of entry test do they have? Different types of art drawings that you do during an exam or a portfolio of some sort?
Don't be afraid, you will like it. It's a lot more laid back then high school.
I've also been pretty careful with money these days since I'm saving for a master's degree that I'm planning to go for in 1-2 years. It's going to cost me a lot of cash since I'm planning to study for it abroad.
You've been in our country for more than a year now right? Не свикна ли поне малко с езика? :) I'm pretty sure that the professors or students will talk to you in English if you don't completely understand something.
+ You won't be doing regular studying a lot anyways xD Most of the it will probably be art/design projects.
So go for university and try your best :) It's one of the best things you can do if you are already feeling like that.
What major are you planning on going for?
I also played Aura Kingdom around 4 years ago xD I used to be a bard since my friends that were playing were nagging me that they needed a buffer/debuffer. It used to be pretty chill and fun game. I also remember that there were lots of cool pets/spirits that you were using.
Now that I think about it, Aura Kingdom is probably the only "anime" MMO that I have played ^_^
Becoming a full-time weeb is never a good idea :D
