Not really positive about my odds of being able to celebrate the holiday with extended family tomorrow. I feel like death warmed over. Ugh. On the plus side, I won't have to deal with my step dad's relatives. (my parents got back together right before the divorce was finalized)
I'm glad to hear that you're doing so well. :) What classes are you taking this semester?
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure seems like good campy fun from what I've seen (only episode 1). Oh! Digimon season 1 is really cheap on Amazon right now ($28.99). Makes me feel like a fool for paying twice that. Ah well. I'm supporting the industry I guess. Have you heard that they're releasing Digimon Season 2 in March? Now if Tamers will just come out too that'll be perfect. (Screw Frontier.. just kidding I'd probably get it too)
Tiffany Grant isn't my favorite va either but it was fun to meet her. She signed my Chrono Crusade and Evangelion DVDs. I was more fangirly with Tara who voiced a lot of my childhood among other things. Timmy in Fairly Odd Parents, Dil in Rugrats and Raven in Teen Titans. You should! Anime conventions are like one big geekfest. Anime, Manga, Videogames, Comics, etc. I've been to 6 now and I'm not sick of them yet.
Ah, jealous! I want to play Pokemon White 2. Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas. lol I didn't know there was a Star Wars Angry Birds. Sounds fun. I wish Bethesda would put out Skyrim DLC for the PS3. So neglected D: I want the Okami artbook too but you can only find it in the used market for 50 bucks over the original retail price. Ouchy. Me wants the prettys though D:
I've tried getting into Halo multiple times but it's just bored me too death. I feel bad for saying that but it's true. Perhaps the multiplayer is more fun.
That's life pretty much. I look back at my high school days and I see how much free time I had back then. It's crazy. Nowadays it's an achievement to beat one game in a month. Probably not going to get even close to finishing Okami until Christmas Break. What Wii U games are you interested in?
Hey! How's it going? I haven't heard from you in a while so I thought I'd check in.
I just got back from this year's Anime Vegas where I spent way over my budget in the dealer's room. I picked up Toradora boxset 1 & 2, Evangelion 1.11, Evangelion 2.22, Penguin plushie from Penguindrum, an Okami fanart print and a Skyward Sowrd poster. My wallet weeps ;-;
Toradora is sub only since it's from NIS America but I adored it when I saw it at Anime club some years ago. The Eva rebuild movies were entirely new to me though. 1.11 was like a condensed version of the tv series with a more polished dub (the original was a bit rough around the edges) and animation. It was good but nothing special. 2.12 was a bit more engaging since it started going in a completely different direction. In general, I think I'll enjoy these movies more. I gave the tv series a 6/10 since I couldn't deny quality. It's just a lot my rating comes from enjoyment and eva was a bit painful to watch at time. Shinji might of been a really realistic character but god was he annoying..
I also met Tara Strong, Tiffany Grant and Justin Cook at the con. Nice people :3
Since my last post, I've beat Super Mario RPG. It was rather average in the end and I still prefer Paper Mario to it. Now I'm making my way through Okami. I have the Wii version which feels a bit broken at times. I'll draw a perfectly round circle using the motion controls and it won't register at all. Other times I'll draw something really sloppy and it works. I feel like I'd be better off with the ps2 version (traditional) or the ps3 (traditional or motion). Hope it doesn't prevent me from beating the game in any case.
Wii U is now out in the US. Are you going to pick it up anytime soon? I probably won't because a.) poor (all extra money want to av trip) and b.) not any games that make me want to go out and buy it this second.
I have a friend who was hired by Walmart last May and she's trying to find a way out too. Walmart employees must be universally treated like dirt. I hope that you were able to sort out the payments. I've had to deal with financial aid all through my college years and they can be a pain in the butt. First you have to fill out an overly long application, then send in tax return forms, student forms and moar forms. And wait. Oh god, the waiting. ~_~
No new acquisitions here. Well, except that I preordered this. The first season of Digimon is being released in full for the first time in North America. It's dub only but I don't care. Take my money! I really hope that it does well so companies will consider releasing other seasons (2 and 3 for me).
Since I last posted I've beat 3 great games. Chrono Trigger, Mass Effect 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Chrono Trigger remained a fun game throughout. I'm not a fan of JRPGs or turn based battles but it worked here. I used Chrono, Magus and Frog for the final battle. Weird thing was when I tried to do a new game plus not all of my items were there. Prism helms and dresses were gone. Oh well.
Next was Mass Effect 3 which I was dreading to see the ending. The ending wasn't that bad but then again, I had the extended cut. Could of it been done better? Yes. Am I going to rage about it? No. What was horrible is that I ended up not hooking up with any romanceable characters. I heard in advance that Thane wasn't going to be available so I tried to shoot for Kaidan again. I constantly visited him at the hospital, talked and shot down Liara's offer. But when it came to the romance locking moment my Shepard told him that he was like a brother to her. Forever alone D: The only other annoyance was the lack of ways to track your progress on side missions. I wiki'd those things to no end :p
Finally there was Majora's Mask which I ended up liking a lot. I'm not ashamed to admit I used a guide heavily for sidequests and stuff like the last dungeon. But I ended up 100%ing the game. The hardest heart pieces to get were the two shooting galleries. I spent hours and countless rupees on those stupid minigames. The masks in general were pretty fun. Some were pretty pointless like the Circus Leader's mask but the transformation ones were great. The fierce deity mask was just cheap :p
Oh Samurai 7's coming to Toonami! Not a bad show overall.
What community is that? If you don't mind me asking..
Hey! How are things going over there? Good, I hope :)
Funny thing is I applied for several positions at Walmart and got called in to do an interview for overnight stocking. Two different people interviewed me and then I went home. Two weeks later I got a call when I was half asleep and I think they were asking for another interview and wanted to know if I'll be there in the fall. Me being half asleep I told them the truth that I was going to be in college. That ended the conversation pretty quickly. I've since filled out many applications and gone to several interviews. No dice. I'm doomed to a jobless summer.
Mom's tasked me with finding shared rooms for this fall. My sister's going to the same college, you see. The problem is she wants me to find a place that's close to campus (my sister has no car/driver's license) and is fully furnished (no money to buy furniture) on top of my search for dog friendly housing. It's like a magical goose that doesn't exist. Blagh.
Also, another big thing that's happened since I last wrote is my dad got served divorce papers. He's thankfully staying with his parents while this is going on but he drained the family bank account. Checks for bills that were sent earlier bounced and we literately have no money right now. The court hearing is in a couple of weeks. I'm considering changing my last name to my bio dad's last name too. I never knew him but his family has been so caring and loving.
I've obtained Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Batman: Arkham City and Cybernator (VC) since my last post. I've only played the first one though and it's much like the past two games. A lot of deja vu going on but I want to get through it before AC3 comes out later this year. The demos at E3 were pretty fun. The game I've been playing most lately is Chrono Trigger. Correct me if I'm wrong but is that Magus in your userpic? I've never noticed that before. Wow. I think I'm fairly close to beating it. The last thing I did was get Chrono back after *spoilers* and now I'm doing some side quests. The double techs and triple techs are fun to do as is the time traveling. I always have a hard time picking who to be in my team though. I was rolling with Magus, Ayla and Frog until Chrono came back. So confused. Any tips for the newbie?
Good buys you got there. I have thought of importing the European release but I'm deathly afraid of modding my wii. I don't want to accidentally brick it when installing the homebrew channel or something. If there isn't an announcement for NA by the end of the year I'll go ahead and do it.
I didn't see the April Fool's Joke but I did catch Toonami's coming back night. I wish I could say I've watched it every night since but I usually get distracted whenever it's on. Anime wise, I'm calming down a bit. I finished 3 series which dropped me down to 5. I'm thinking of having a studio ghibli movie marathon. I bought Porco Rosso, My Neighbor Totoro and Whisper of the Heart. And I downloaded two that never got US releases (Only Yesterday & Ocean Waves).
Game of Thrones season 2 turned out to be good. Not as awesome as the first season but the blackwater episode made up for everything. I was squealing over the Jamie and Briennne parts. They're my favorite pairing in the series :p Oh and who didn't get excited over the white walkers approaching. Poor sam.. I wish I could say Korra turned out just as well but it kind of fizzled out as it went on. Right now I'm watching True Blood for the camp. It's a guilty pleasure..:p
Well, it's been a couple months. Time for an update! I survived yet another semester of school. I got an A, two A- and a P (pass). Then I'll have 3 classes in the fall, 1 in the spring and an independent study in May after I technically walk. It's a bit weird to think that this time next year I'll have my bachelor's. The more the years go by, the more convinced I am that a job in the videogame industry would be perfect for me. A lot of my friends have lost interest in videogames as time passed but I'm still excited about upcoming games.
I have this crazy idea of cutting my gaming backlog in half this year. That means not buying many games if at all. My plan is to get Assassin's Creed: Revelations so I'll be ready for Assassin's Creed III which looks like all kinds of awesome. Leaping from branch to branch, assassinating enemy soldiers with tomahawks? Yes, please. The other game I'd get this year would be The Last Guardian but that's looking more and more like it won't come out ever. The only updates we’ve got the past 3 years are that it’s “being worked on”. And lastly, I'd get Fatal Frame: Deep Crimson Butterfly if it comes to North America. It's a remake of Fatal Frame 2 for the Wii. And it's coming out in Europe, New Zealand and Australia so it's getting an English version but Nintendo of America has said boo about it coming here. That makes me a sad panda D: So fans are gathering together on the internet to write letters petitions and call Nintendo’s hotline to get NoA to reconsider. It worked for Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story. I have hope…
Since I last posted, I've defeated The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Pokemon Platinum, Flower, Journey and Batman: Arkham Asylum. My opinion of TLoZ:SS didn't really change after I beat it. Lord Ghirahim was fabulous and the ending battle(s) were delightfully epic. Pokemon Platinum was ,well, a Pokemon game. Nothing to really comment there except the Elite Four was pretty tough. Flower was a relaxing indie game but I'm not sure it was worth the 8 or 10 dollars I paid for it. Journey, from the same company, left me all breathless and awed. It was only 2 hours but it was unforgettable. Batman: Arkham Asylum surprised me. I'm not really much of a batman or superhero fan in general. I've seen bits of movie here and there but nothing much. The game was awesome and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Combat, stealth and challenges were great. Now I finally have the new Xbox 360 that my friend got for me. It's a 4 GB slim. I was able to remove the hard drive from my old one and insert it in the new. I really love that it has inbuilt Wi-Fi too which was a sore spot for me previously. I'm not far into Mass Effect 3 but I'm enjoying it so far. Good stuff. Hoping this Xbox will be more stable ^^
What else? Oh! Toonami's coming back on the 26th. It'll be from midnight to 6 am but I'm thinking it might get a better timeslot if it does well. At the very least, it'll give us more of Steve Blum's sexy voice during commercial breaks. So many memories..
On the show front, I've been pretty busy. I’ve been watching 13 different ongoing shows counting both anime and American shows. Some are on summer hiatus so it's only 10 now. Polar Bear's Cafe, the new Lupin the Third show, Space Brothers, Kids on the Slope, Tsuritama, Eureka Seven, Hunter x Hunter reboot, The Legend of Korra, Supernatural and Game of Thrones. Polar Bear's Cafe is extremely cute and even funny on occasion. Lupin is visually exiting but not the best thing ever as I initially thought. Space Brothers is my favorite of the season with a lot heart. Kid's on the Slope is not too bad. It’s more low key than I thought it'd be considering it has Cowboy Bebop's director and Yoko Kanno. Tsuritama is from the director of Mononoke but it's probably my least favorite of the season. It's very directionless right now. Eureka Seven AO continues being solid like its predecessor. Legend of Korra is OK for a cartoon. The action scenes are good at least. I keep following Supernatural out of loyalty but it doesn't have the same spark season 1-5 had. Game of Thrones continues to be the awesome show it is. Even despite making some big deviations from the book from this season. Mostly in Dany's storyline.
Mass Effect 1 and 2 replays never came to pass. It's just as well since when I put my copy of me3 in it asked for a mandatory system update. I was like, "OK, not a big deal" The Xbox 360 restarts and then halfway throught the starting logo, I hear a loud beeeeeep and the screen freezes. I turned the system off and when it turned back on, three red rings were flashing. Yes, my Xbox 360 got the RROD for the SECOND time. To say that I was pissed would be a huge understatement. Later I went through a stage of depression and mourning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nth2ZDeoANE (video of the red rings flashing). Right now I'm a poor college student with no job so there's no way I could pay Microsoft $99 to fix it and I don't know if my cousin would of been up for fixing it a second time scott free. A friend of mine then floored me by going out the next day and buying a refurbished xbox 360 from gamestop (a newer model than mine) for me. He's sending it out soon so I might be able to resume my adventures as Ms. Awesome Paragon Vanguard Shepard this week (going to put my old hard drive into the new one. I don't think RROD effect the saves and all that in any way). I really want to start a male shepard playthrough just 'caus Kaidan and Steve are available m/m romance options in me3. There's been a lot of negative buzz around the net concerning this game. Apparently all the endings are horrible and are pretty much the same, Bioware used stock footage for a photo of Tali unmasked and the day 1 DLC wasn't free. I really could care less about all that though. The demo was solid and I'm sure the game as a whole is well worth experiance.
In the meanwhile, I've finished Uncharted 3. Once again Naughty Dog has made a fine game. I don't if it was better than 2 but it was at least on par. Some of the levels had me gaping in wonder. Now I'm working my way through Skyward Sword. I've cleared 6 dungeons and hoping to finish it this week (it's spring break). The motion control gameplay is pretty fun and the dungeons/bosses are as clever as ever. There are some annoying aspects like the padding between dungeons, the stupid escort mission with the robot and the silent realms but I'm still liking it a lot. I'm planning on playing Majora's Mask after finishing Skyward Sword. Then I can finally say I've beat all the 3D console zeldas :p
Last Exile sequel continues to fall short, Hunter x Hunter reboot is still a bit boring since it's recapping events from the original and I'm watching the Natsume series which is ok. The latter is really slow paced and soothing. Not anywhere near becoming a favorite but I'm liking it.
I want to see the Hunger Game movie but probably won't get to see it until months after it comes out in theaters because of the limited budget. You'll have to tell me how it goes :)
Greetings from a very sleep deprived person! How goes it over there? School has kept me busy so I haven't had as much time for Anime or Videogames. But I did beat Bomberman Hero yesterday, bless it's heart. The last few bosses were a bit rage inducing so I'm happy that it's over with. I also started Uncharted 3 which has been great. That game is like one big adrenaline rush. My poor heart :p One minute you're running down a corridor with swarms of big spiders gnawing at your heels and the next you're trying to escape a burning building. I also want to replay Mass Effect 1 and 2 in anticipation of Mass Effect 3 next month but that probably won't happen. One, I don't have the time and two, it's really hard to read dialog on my small 13 inch tv. Then again I'll have to put up with the very same problems with 3. Ah, c'est la vie. It's probably for the better that the skyrim DLCs will be more spread out but bigger. No more horse armor packs :p
Oh, wow. Your list is ginormous D: I don't know how you're going to get to them all but good luck! Sadly, I can't say much about the mistborn series since I've only got 60 or so pages into it. From what I gather it's about a group of rebels trying to over throw an oppressive government. The main character is a mistborn (a person who can do more than one type of mind control). and joins this group of rebels. In any case, it's been an enjoyable read so far.
Heh I don't really care if anyone sees my wallscrolls or not. They're there since plain walls are too depressing :p
Now that it's been a week since I moved into this townhome, I have time to sit down and actually write something. Things have been pretty hectic but a good hectic. It's a nice change of pace. And best of all, I don't have to deal with a certain a-hole that is my step-dad. No housemates yet but I'm not too terribly upset about that. The only bad thing is I've been waking up everyday with back pains. I don't know if it's because of bad sleeping posture, a crappy mattress, my dog Farah occasionally sleeping on top of me, an increased level of activity or all of the above. Kind of kills your inspiration to do stuff when you wake up like that though. I'm waiting for the day that I get up and feel AWESOME.
That's too bad about the Daedric achievement glitching out. I was sure something was going to go wrong in my quest to get the platinum trophy but much to my relief, I heard the ding announcing that I got it. When is the DLC coming out btw? Not that I could get it right when it's released since Microsoft shelled out tons of money to have it 30 days before Sony.
I borrowed some books from my little sister. The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima and Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I haven't got that far in either so I can really vouch for them. I also checked out A Dog's Purpose by Bruce Cameron from the library since I'm an unabashed dog lover haha. Oooh, can I see your Amazon book wishlist? It might give me ideas of books to read.
Either way that amounts to a lot of game. I haven't really played much of anything this past week. Last night I barely made it to the Skyview Temple in Skyward Sword. Getting to the dungeon was a dungeon itself and it seems like I loose hearts easier in this game too. Wii Motion Plus controls are pretty precise but it takes a bit getting used to. I felt stupid last night since I was having trouble with staying balanced on the tightrope but then it turns out I was holding the wii remote horizontal instead of vertical. D'oh! Oh, and Fi. She's annoying. Really really annoying :p
Even if the picture quality was crappy, it was fun seeing your nerdage collections. You at can say you have more manga than I do. All I have is the first couple volumes of Death Note and some Fruits Basket. Is that a twilight book I spy? :p Aww, there's a toad, yoshi, kon and koromon (?) plushie. Nice action figures too. Light, L and Gallentmon, oh my!
I feel the same way about Durarara!! for the most part. Celty and Shizuo were my favorites and the ending was meh. There's probably more light novels waiting to be adapted. They just didn't for whatever reason. Anime-wise I'm just watching the Last Exile sequel and the Hunter x Hunter reboot. I'm boring :p Yeah, that's too bad about Bandai. I still need to pick up Cowboy Bebop, .Hack//Sign and Haruhi from them. 2012 hasn't been a good year for the north american anime industry so far. First Bandai, then Media Blasters laying off 60% of their stuff and now Funimation is suing ADV/Sentai. Not good D:
After putting 120 hours in and getting all the trophies, I think it's time for me to move on too. It was a fun ride though. Some of the Daedric quests were my favorite in the game. I was even surprised by random ones I did for the 10 side quests and 50 cleared dungeons trophies. The Book of Love quest was pretty cute. I first helped a young couple elope, gave a poem to a girl for this guy and helped two spirits who were lovers when they lived reunite. The last dungeon I cleared I stopped this girl's mom since she was trying to turn into a witch or something. I also found Shadowmere after 30 hours of her being lost. I think it happened since I accidentally got on a bandit's horse and that transfered ownership or something. Anyways, I was just fast traveling to a random place and bam, she was there. I was like "Where've you been!?!?" ;_; *run across a flower field in slow motion*
The Windhelm house quest glitched for me too. I couldn't even get the people around the gravestone event to happen. I read around somewhere that if you've completed the imperial and dark brotherhood storylines, it glitched that quest. Another thing I read is if people in the quest line are dead, that screws it up too. I found Tova Shatter-Shield dead beside her bed. No clue how that happened. Also, the windhelm stable keeper had died 20 or so hours earlier by a dragon (I didn't think much about it at the time). In any case, I think it's stupid that the guest is so glitched and that you can only buy the house by completing it.
There was this funny Dragon corpse in Solitude. Sometimes I'd visit and it'd be a skeleton and other times, it'd have it's scales still. At one point, there was just a tail sticking straight out of the ground. It was hilarious. Then I went through a period were all the dragons that attacked me were textureless. 0-0 The last 10 hours I played though I had the infamous PS3 skyrim lag. Clipshow bleck. I installed patches 1.02 and 1.03 after collecting all the trophies and the lag disappeared. Who'd a thunk it? I was so scared of getting them because of the horror stories on the net but they actually helped my game. Oooh you should take a snapshot of your wood elf character. It'd be neat.
Hunger Games is a good series. I haven't read them in a bit but I remember enjoying them. And of course I loved the Song of Ice and Fire books. I can't wait to see season 2 in April. No comics suggestions. My knowledge in that area is woefully lacking :p Umm.. might want to check out Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller series (the second book is a bit meh but I still have hope the third will be good) and the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher.
I saw that you got a but load of new games recently. That's crazy @_@ I got Skyward Sword for Christmas (which I already knew) but Chrono gifted me The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Brawl Fighter and Mega Man X for the VC. Not a bad haul. I'm also almost first in line for Uncharted 3 on Goozex (and probably an old pokemon game).
Hmm.. what else. I'm moving this Saturday into a townhome and will be going back to school next week. I'll have less time to relax but what can you do. I can't be a jobless, out of school bum forever :p
I salute your devotion to Skyrim! Seriously, I'm only 70ish hours in. My character is at level 42 now and I just crafted my first Dragonscale armor. I updated it to legendary but I'm waiting until my enchanting is 100 so I can add two spells to it (probably resist frost and fire. Those elder and ancient dragons can be a bitch). Although I roll with the thieves guild master armor a lot since it increases your carrying capacity. And boy, do I need room for loot during quests. I wish there was still a feather spell like in Oblivion. That was really handy. I also carry the Dark Brotherhood outfit if I want to be extra sneaky. So basically I'm lugging around three sets right now lol. I completed the Dark Brotherhood quest line and the main story questline. About halfway through the College of Winterhold quests in which I don't use a whole lot of magic (more sneak kills). My next step is to buy the most expensive house in Skyrim since I have money burning a hole in my pocket.
Yeah, after a certain point in the game dragons become a joke. Unless said dragon is of the elder or ancient variety. Those are a bit trickier. What I hate is when they attack villages and kill a quest giving NPC. An elder dragon attacked the College of Winterhold the last time I played and when it was all said and done, I found Onmund on the ground dead. x.0 I now have 16 dragon shouts by just going through the big questlines.
Since I last wrote here, my khajiit character has rose to level 31. Admittedly, that's not much but I think it takes more skill increasing per level as you go along. I remember one play session where the horses at the Whindhelm? stables killed a dragon for me, a traveling NPC gave me 500 gold (said something about nightingale), and I came upon a random floating sword in the road. T'was awesome. I also become the thieves guild master. And discovered the awesomness of using a bow and arrow. I had neglected it since having to aim reminded me of FPSs and I hate FPSs. During the thieves guild special quest "Silver Lining", I was like what the hey and decided to give it a go. I cleared out room after room with 1 to 2 arrows per person. It was hilarious to see them dropping dead before they even noticed me. The few ones that did try to come after me suddenly stopped two feet away from my spot (Where'd he go??). Then I just put another arrow in them and they were dead like the rest. My archery skill isn't too high (24) so I was surprised how deadly it was. I'll definitely try to work on my archery skill from now on. Hmm.. what else? I joined the dark brotherhood but I haven't got that far. I also worked a bit more on the main quest.
I picked a khajiit in Oblivion too. For some reason I like anthro characters. I blame the likes of Redwall, Disney's Robin Hood and the cute anthro videogame mascots from my youth. I don't identify my self as a furry however (too many negative connotations). The starting thief related stats were nice too. The enemy insults are kind of funny. Apparently I'd make a nice carpet/rug/blanket and they want to kill me like they killed their cousin's cat. Heh.
I took the nightingale power of invisibility as well. Who doesn't want to disappear for two minutes a day? Yeah, that's what I thought. The leveling in Skyrim is a thousand times better than Oblivion's. My only gripe is that sometimes it's easier to take down a dragon than a random bandit. Something is not right about that. The one hit kills from the giants are pretty cheap too so much so that I run away when I see them. I've had a couple more freezes but they're always during autosaves (probably should turn them off). Another annoying bug was this quest giver would randomly spawn during a quest and get killed by a bunch of guards. I had to get to the guards before they got to him >_> Thinking I should go find some word walls since I have a bunch of stored dragon souls lol Any suggestions?
No progress on Akrham Asylum. Skyrim has stolen meh soul D: Oh! Amazon randomly got Skyward Sword bundles instock for the original price on November 30 so I had my mom order it for my Christmas present. Good thing we jumped on it then since it was out of stock the next day. Now I just have to wait for Chrismas to arrive :3
AV was amazing. I got signatures from Crispin Freeman (signed my Wolf's Rain dvd), Todd Haberkorn (Baccano dvd), Victoria Harwood (my badge), Littlekuriboh (badge as well) and Kyle Hebert (Gurren Lagann wallscroll that also had Michelle Ruff's sig). I was going to have Sam Riegel sign my Gurrren wallscroll as well (he plays Viral) but he had to cancel the last second. I totally was tongue tied around Crispin but I got a picture with him which was cool. And Littlekuriboh (and his wife) were the only people who recognized our Killer 7 cosplay. He said were the best cosplayers he'd seen at the con. It made our day :3 We also went to the top of the stratosphere and went on a bunch of the rides. They weren't as scary as I thought they'd be since we were pretty strapped in but it was worth it for the night view alone. Vegas really is the city of light. We also stumbled upon the very small vegas chinatown and had some nice Korean or was it Filipino.. food. Anyways, nuff of me rambling. I uploaded a couple pics here http://s10.photobucket.com/albums/a118/fhscreencaps/AV2011/ (and there's a stupid video of us here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdVw84MwsQY
I saw on backloggery that you've picked up Skyrim. How are you enjoying it so far? I've put in 40 hours and I feel like I've only scratched the surface. My character is a level 26 Khajiit with emphasis in light armor, one handed, smithing, restoration, sneaking and conjuration. About the only big quest line I've completed is the theives guild which I was torn about completing. I had to return a certain key that I'd of much rather kept. Ps3 users across the net are complaining that the game becomes so lagged after the saves reach 6 or 7 mb that it becomes unplayable but I've had no such problem. I've only had the game freeze on me once during my playtime and there's only been a couple second lags during autosaves. I guess I'm just lucky :p I was also given $20 for taking my sis up north to the mall so I stopped by the gamestop and picked up Batman: Arkham Aslyum. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. So far it hasn't let me down but I haven't got into it that much due to Skyrim. Part of me is kicking myself in the butt for picking up Skyrim instead of the Skyward Sword bundle. You can only find that in the used markets for $100 now. Sad Zelda fan is sad ;-;
Word of warning - I haven't slept well for a couple days and I'm hopped up on medicine. I may or may not be a bit loopy. Read on at your own discretion. Heh.
You could pick them up for the ps2. Sure, they don't look amazing on an HDTV but the content is still the same (for the most part). Ico might be hard to find but Shadow of Colossus isn't too difficult to spot at your local gamestop. Unless your gamestop got rid of the used ps2 game bin. Then you're out of luck :p I haven't made much of any progress in Chrono Trigger, I've mostly been making my way through Sly 3. Have I told you that I'm sooo excited for Skyrim? 'Caus I'm soooooooooooooo excited. I've preordered it from Amazon with release day shipping but I most likely won't be able to play it until the 15th since I'll be away at AV. Not that I'm complaining. AV will be awesome! I'll be arriving in Vegas the day before and will probably do a bit of a sight seeing. We're planning on going to the top of the stratosphere tower at night and get on all the crazy rides. For reals.
So in the end, I only added the Last Exile sequel from the fall season. I'm not really in the mood for new series. I might rewatch the first series of Last Exile since I can't remember a lot of the finer details lol It's nice to see studio Gonzo back in action though. They were for dead for a while ;-; Trigun is a fun series. I snatched up the dvds when rightstuf had their 25 dvds for $100 sale and I have the first volume signed by johnny young bosch. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a118/fhscreencaps/46938_473706911137_520421137_7202131_4098532_n.jpg (also michelle ruff's sig on the last exile dvd and mary mcglyn's on the wolf's rain) I want to see the new Trigun movie even though I heard it's like a random episode and isn't that great.
Did you see the trailer for GTA5? I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't set in Vegas like I presumed after seeing the logo and that it was set in modern times (I liked it better when they were doing period peices). It'll probably still be good though.
You're lightning fast unlike me who's just now replying more than a month after. Better late than never, eh?
Since my last post, I've acquired three different games. First one being the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection for the ps3. I had played the former for a couple hours on the ps2 beforehand but it'd always freeze after a certain point. So I was glad to have the chance to beat it. The sharper textures really brought out the enormity of the castle in the game and since it was the European version there was a 2 player option after the end plus translated dialog for Yorda (sort of like how some dialog was translated in wind waker are you beat it). It was a bit short but I liked it a lot. Shadow of the Colossus is not a game I was a stranger to, it's one of my favorite games of all time! It was fun replaying it with a much smoother frame rate. Some of the wonder was gone but my opinion still remained the same for the most part.
Then about a week ago, I got Chrono Trigger VC from Goozex (trading game/movie site) after hearing glowing recommendations from four friends (and apparently you approve too). I haven't got far enough to make much of an opinion but the time travel aspect is interesting so far. The third new game I got was .hack//infection, also at friend's recs. I've watched .hack//sign, .hack//roots, and .hack//twilight so why not play the games? It'll probably help make sense of how things tie together too. I also beat Kotor 2 which wasn't as awesome as the first but still very good. And I beat Killer7. Boy, that was a doozy. I don't even know where to begin, it was so weird. I'm cosplaying as one of the characters from it one of the days at AV. You can see her in action here. (have a friend cosplaying Dan Smith) It's kind of funny that both of my first cosplays are videogame related when I'm going to an anime convention. Oh, and I'm also replaying Wind Waker in anticipation of AV. Hmm.. did I miss anything? lol
I'm so excited for AV that I think I'm going to burst. The theme for the guest list this year is hellsing so a lot of VAs from that show including Crispen Freeman. I'll probably get up to him during the autograph session and freeze knowing me.
*looks at previous post again* No. 6 turned out to be a waste of time. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Croisee remained pleasant throughout. And Penguindrum is still kicking some serious ass. I also picked up Hunter x Hunter 2011 (reboot of shounen classic. it's more fast paced than the original), Victorian Romance Emma (cute romance) and My Ordinary Life (Azumanga Daiohish. very random and funny). I'm rewatching Mushishi (achingly beautiful episodic series), Rahxephon and the original Hunter x Hunter.
Not sure what new shows I'm going to check out of the fall season since I already have a lot on my plate. Persona 4, Last Exile sequel, and the two Noitamina shows perhaps. Anyways, I better go. Ciao :)

Anyways, I better go. Ciao!
I just got back from this year's Anime Vegas where I spent way over my budget in the dealer's room. I picked up Toradora boxset 1 & 2, Evangelion 1.11, Evangelion 2.22, Penguin plushie from Penguindrum, an Okami fanart print and a Skyward Sowrd poster. My wallet weeps ;-;
Anyways, I better go before I talk your ear off.
I also took some pics of some other stuff that I forgot to add.

Not good D:
In other news, I took updated pics of my anime and videogame collection. http://myanimelist.net/blog.php?eid=662991
Hmm.. what else. I'm moving this Saturday into a townhome and will be going back to school next week. I'll have less time to relax but what can you do. I can't be a jobless, out of school bum forever :p
I recorded some Skyrim footage for fun but it's nothing special (quest "Bound UNtil Death) Near the end of it you can see what my character looks like and I go through my skills (at that time). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEnnwj1A3TQ And for kicks and giggles, here's the trophies that I got so far http://www.ps3trophies.com/trophies/The-Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim/ForlornHope638
Kindles are cool. My sister has one and she loves it. What books/comics are you thinking of getting?
Oh, have you seen Rightstuf's 12 days of Christmas sale? Some nice deals there http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/news/individual/?ForumThreadName=FT0000003065&ReturnTo=Main
I saw on backloggery that you've picked up Skyrim. How are you enjoying it so far? I've put in 40 hours and I feel like I've only scratched the surface. My character is a level 26 Khajiit with emphasis in light armor, one handed, smithing, restoration, sneaking and conjuration. About the only big quest line I've completed is the theives guild which I was torn about completing. I had to return a certain key that I'd of much rather kept. Ps3 users across the net are complaining that the game becomes so lagged after the saves reach 6 or 7 mb that it becomes unplayable but I've had no such problem. I've only had the game freeze on me once during my playtime and there's only been a couple second lags during autosaves. I guess I'm just lucky :p I was also given $20 for taking my sis up north to the mall so I stopped by the gamestop and picked up Batman: Arkham Aslyum. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. So far it hasn't let me down but I haven't got into it that much due to Skyrim. Part of me is kicking myself in the butt for picking up Skyrim instead of the Skyward Sword bundle. You can only find that in the used markets for $100 now. Sad Zelda fan is sad ;-;
Anyways, I better go. Later :3
Ciao :)
