I really like animes and mangas which are lighted hearted with a serious main plot. Animes that have a good finale are really hard to come by, even good animes suffer from horrible and clichéd endings. Any anime that gets to end on a high note as well as having a satisfying story from beginning to end gets an immediate 10/10 from me.
Mangas, I have not read many. I only read two and they are both light hearted and comedic in story with serious plot arcs in between, which is exactly what I look for in anime.
Some recommendations of mine include, Date a Live, Hataraku Maou-sama!, these really fit my taste if you were looking for some examples.
My scores are usually based on this rating system:
10: Everything feels natural, you feel for the characters or maybe the story is very good, perhaps both. There's no weird arc that puts you off, nothing like that.
9: There's one very weird or jarring moment that puts you off. You can't ignore it and you always skip it in the very good anime. If that moment wasn't there, it would be a 10.
8: A good anime with a quite a few moments of oddness, or maybe the anime gets kinda stale in some parts.
7: A decent anime that you watch and enjoy once and never go back to it because there are very stupid moments in there that you wish weren't there. The characters feel off sometimes and you wish they would be a little smarter. The ending is probably boring as well.
6: The anime is just average, it had a good concept that I liked, but the execution is bad. Or maybe, the story and pacing was absolute shit, with generic and boring characters.
5: It's not worth my time, it could have been awesome from the synopsis but it came out boring and uninteresting.
4-1: I rarely put these kinds of anime in my list, in fact I feel embarrassed that I even watched these and have never put them on the list. The ones that I do put is anime that I gave a chance, but failed to entertain me in the slightest. The story/characters/plot is bad, possibly even all three of those things.

Recent characters that became Favourites and the reasons why they became memorable and loved by me
"Rapture" Asuka From Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka
She's a magical girl that finished her fight with the enemy and is now living as a normal student, but as fate would have it she is forced to return to deal with a new threat. I won't go too in depth but I really love how she's a veteran from the start, but she's suffering emotionally due to events from the past. I love her magical girl costume and her character design, her voice actress really does a fine job portraying her. She's a main character that you care and empathise for, and personally carries the show on her shoulders.
Phantom, from Girly Airforce
In my opinion, she's a likeable rival character introduced in the middle of the show. She's smart and likeable, yet hatable as welll. She's technically the first Anima created by Yashidoori, making her the most experienced of the 3 main Anima. Her pressence in the story makes it much more enjoyable as she's an interesting character that shakes things up. She's powerful but not overpowered, her actions are rational yet unacceptable. She is someone who has lived a 1000 years in countless settings and scenarios, giving her knowledge and foresight that no one else has.
Yashirodoori Haruka from Girly Air force (Not on MAL)
An overweight scientist that smokes whenever he feels like it. Somehow his scenes are always interesting, whenever he shows up I end up liking his character more and more. There is never a dull scene with him, he is a scientist in a sense. He is not afraid of making decisions that seem absurd from a logical standpoint to prove a point. He says things that make you interested in the possibilities the story could have in the future.
Viper Zero from Girly Air force (Not on MAL)
A character I like purely for the concept. She's a purple Anima that has no physical form or a voice. She takes on the appearance of someone who has been heavily on your mind. For example, the main character see's her as her childhood friend. Yashirodoori see's her as someone special, he sees her as a reminder the path he has walked wasn't always through a wasteland. We don't get to see it, but that's so interesting! Who could it be? Who could that special someone be, who he saw Viper Zero as? She has no voice, but that doesn't mean she doesn't speak. She's surprisingly good at helping our main character out with his relationship issues, even though she doesn't appear much she definitely left an impression on me.
