Some general info about myself:
- I enjoy both reading manga and watching anime. At the moment I don't read light novels but I might do it in the future.
- I prefer to marathon an anime rather than waiting for a new episode weekly. I'm not fond of watching an anime series that is still ongoing, I always wait for it to be completed and then binge-watch it in the span of a few days.
- I prefer to marathon a manga too but given the circumstances I'm also fine with reading unfinished manga. After I have reached the latest chapter available, then I just put it on hold and pick it back up later when more chapters have been released.
- I try my best not to drop any anime/manga. Occasionally after watching/reading something that I feel to be quite boring (might be because it's really dull or I'm just not in the mood), I put it on hold so I can watch/read something else that is more enjoyable.
About my list:
- If an anime has more than one season, I only rate the one I think is the most memorable and leave the rest unrated. The reason for this is that I rate anime as a whole series and anime with multiple seasons will distort the mean score of my list.
- If there is any, I always read the one-shot of the manga but I do not add them to my list as I think they are not significant enough to be judged and provide nothing but clutter the list.
- For some series that have both anime and manga adaptations, I may have watched the anime and read the manga but I only put my rating on either one that I like more.
- Even though I try to give scores as objectively as possible, it's still my own personal view, so my scoring will definitely be subjective. Also, I tend to have a stricter evaluation on more popular anime/manga compared to the unpopular ones.
- The scores I assign are susceptible to change at any time, they may increase or decrease in accordance to the other anime/manga I watch/read. As I watch/read more anime/manga, the scores will become more and more accurate.
- The tags section is currently unused but I might modify it to better accommodate my list in the future.
How I rate anime/manga:
- 10 (Masterpiece): I would strongly recommend anyone to watch/read the anime/manga. It’s simply outstanding. The series inspired me and had me overflowing with emotions with its wonderful storytelling and compelling characters throughout the narrative. The excitement and marvel I had going through the series were immeasurable. It connected with me so strongly that I was left with a massive gaping void in my chest after I was done with it. Truly a masterpiece.
- 9 (Great): I would highly recommend anyone to watch/read the anime/manga. Excellent series with just a few shortcomings. Either the content of the story genuinely touched my heart, or I found the characters to be extremely memorable, or both. Overall, the series was really captivating, leaving something more to be desired. It was a truly enjoyable experience and there was a lingering sense of attachment to the series even after I was done with it.
- 8 (Very Good): I would recommend anyone to watch/read the anime/manga. The series had a lot of likeable points, but at some parts there were several minor irks that prevented it from reaching its full potential. It could have been better, but I would say it’s already awesome enough at its current state. The series mostly got me emotional, but it wasn’t able to get me to obsess over it afterwards.
- 7 (Good): I would recommend the anime/manga to most people. While there were plenty of things that I would praise about the series, there were also several points that were either not developed well or felt rather bland. I would say it’s still a pretty solid series as it is, though definitely not great enough to leave a strong lasting impression on me.
- 6 (Fine): I would only recommend the anime/manga to interested people. Pretty okay series that had some flaws in my opinion. It wasn't truly exceptional but it was still fairly enjoyable nevertheless. It was able to keep me entertained for the most part, despite having several elements in the series that were a bit of a letdown.
- 5 (Average): I would only recommend the anime/manga to enthusiasts in the genre. Although there were some good things about the series, there were too many awkward points that brought the whole series down, mostly either through plotholes in the storyline or uninteresting characters. In the end, it was only entertaining enough to keep me occupied.
- 4 (Bad): I would only recommend the anime/manga to really bored people. There were a few fine aspects about the series, but they were totally eclipsed by the poor presentation in the other parts of the series, such as lousy plots or a cast full of generic characters. I would say it's just bearable, so don't expect too much out of it.
- 3 (Very Bad): I would not recommend the anime/manga to anyone. The series was insanely boring for the most part, and it was showered with an abundance of bewildering moments and horribly-written characters. It might not be completely irredeemable, but generally it’s just not worth the time as there are easily much better series out there.
- 2 (Horrible): I would not recommend the anime/manga even to my worst enemy. Amid the burning wreck, the series still had a few things that were at least acceptable so it was able to narrowly escape the complete rubbish tier, but no matter what, it’s plain terrible. Honestly, it was incredibly tough enduring through it, and I wouldn’t want to experience that kind of torture ever again.
- 1 (Appalling): I would not recommend the anime/manga even to a sexually-depraved masochist. An abomination in the anime/manga world. The series had absolutely zero redeemable points, and was full of stuff that were utterly intolerable, like outright lame plots or extremely cringeworthy characters. I wasn't able to find any sort of enjoyment going through the series. Either it's completely out of my taste or it's actually really horrible.
