I am Callacas and I try to only watch anime that I like. I know that sounds odd, but most people would sit through the entire series of a show that they hate just to finish it. If I don't like it, I don't watch it. If the first few episodes don't entertain me, then chances are the rest of the show is not worth watching.
Also, It might be worth mentioning how I rate my anime.
It largely depends on where I am rating it. If it is on my reviews then I actually am serious in the rating of the show or manga, even if the review isn't. When I review an anime I average -with no less than a calculator- all of the criteria for the overall score. Everything is then rounded up.
If I am rating the anime on my list, then it just goes by how much I liked it. Death Note? 10. School Days? 1. That's how it goes on my anime list.
My Manga list is different. My manga list is rated more seriously than my anime list and I do post mini-reviews in the tags section of my manga list. While the tags section in my anime list is more for arbitrary comments or bitching if need be.
Battle Shouonens that I have seen
Note: what I mean by having seen a battle shounen I am talking about any shounen (whether they are in my dropped list or completed or currently watching list) that I have seen enough or read enough of to form an opinion about the series.

One Piece
"Usually Battle Shounens have bad stories, but this one takes the cake. This is the vaguest plot I have ever seen. And that is because there is no plot. There is no structure. You can look at Naruto and say that there is an overall plot and story line that adds up when you add in all of the arcs. But One Piece doesn't have that. The only plot that is in the show is when the characters are arrive at a new Island. Story: 1/10"
You say that because you are only at episode 110 at the time of writing this. You have yet to delve into the main plot. There is in fact a plot. So not knowing the plot, I don't think you are qualified to grade this aspect just yet. It's just not fair to the show, and the readers who are getting misinformed by your review.
While you may say that a show that takes too long to develop its plot is not worth it, that is a separate discussion that can be up for debate. Regardless, again, there is a plot.
Sometimes it takes a while for a good story to develop.
Interesting One Piece review, I would have to say that I put One piece off for a long time and tried getting into it about 3 times, out of some of the shounens i have watched i would say this one has the worst start up for me personally. I watched 40 eps then read the manga and i enjoyed the manga a bit more cause it cut out the crap and it was faster. I read the manga for a while which equated to 50 eps, so i ended up with 90 eps. It takes roughly for me 100 eps like the anime. Whenever i have been free lately ive just been watching OP. Its just that i understand them feels. KHR was slow for 20 eps then picks up and becomes awesome and bleach was awesome and wasnt as good for a while after 60 eps. So after all that = no hate for your review :D I would say that OP biggest weakness is its biggest flaw, no fillers is good but they follow 1 ep per chapter which sometimes feels terrible to watch. One piece is a good shounen but it took a while to get me really hooked.
Almost every anime character has a trait that can connect him to a real-life person, hence the term "relateable". The only reason people care for fictional characters is because of that(those) trait(s). Clannad characters lack that, hence the phrase "don't really exist".
Interesting. I'll take that into account from now on. Thnks fo rite lesson
I'd leave the review up. I've seen much more sarcastic reviews stay up since their creation. For more information on this topic, please review this profile:
Wow. I had no idea you were self-aware about the one issue I had with your review.
The fact that it was sarcastic, is, in fact, against Review Guidelines. Dun dun dun.
But, you provided some actual information within your review as well as some in-depth analysis, so I didn't report it. Let me check if someone else did. Nope. You're still clear... for now.
But, yes, the sarcasm is an issue. As you well know, since you seem logically gifted enough, sarcasm doesn't equate to a good review. It equates to a funny* letter to the editor column.
*- I use the term "funny" loosely.
Regardless, as with all sarcastic reviews, I enjoyed reading it. I was close to reporting it myself, but again, you actually provided some beneficial information along with it, so I looked past it. I'd like to see what you can do when you're serious... I'll be reading your Blue Exorcist review in a bit. Wow, I just read the first line and I already have an issue with your casual language! Ah, for another day.
