Zero is the single best movie I have ever seen.
Watch youjo senki and tell me 86 is still good. I dare you.
1: Bunny Girl
50: Nakineko
100: After Story
150: Mono 2nd Season
200: Bocchi
its just another one of those "wholesome slice-of-life" type mangas i enjoy here and there; not a whole lot changes outside the first 20 or so chapters, so if u don't like it then its prbly just not ur cup of tea.
i think it's worth a shot. the highs are p good, and the lows aren't that bad honestly, aside from the pacing for the first half of the 1st episode. the op music moments makeup for the shortcomings imo
Appreciate it king. I started Clannad like in 2019 and somehow got busy watching something else and just never came back to it, the art style made me not feel as inclined to get to it as other shows. I never drop anything, so I’m still gonna watch once I clear my CR queue. Hyouka I’ve seen the first ep in anime club, will get to it when I clear CR queue since it’s Funi.
Grand Blue, like any other comedy, is really hit or miss. A lot of the jokes are alcohol-related or your typical gags like romantic misunderstandings and such. Even though the jokes follow a lot of typical tropes, and become somewhat repetitive after a while, the characters have enough charm and synergy between them to more than makeup for it. I love Grand Blue because I love the characters and how they interact with each other: it really feels like your watching a group of friends just fucking around in their early adulthood. A lot of the best comedic moments (imo) come later on, so I'd def recommend giving it another shot, at least up until episode 4-6 ish. If you're still not digging it then, it'd make sense to drop it :)
honestly, i should probably rate it lower lol. it was one of the first anime i watched (one of the first ten, i think), so i didn't really have much of a grading criterion back then.
i think the one thing that particularly stood out to me was the premise. i can't say that the body-swapping idea is entirely unique on its own, but it was a fun element that gave the series quite a bit of flavor. throughout the show, you also see people's relationships change and alter based on their interactions and experiences with each other.
the reason why i would probably lower my rating though is the melodrama. it's a bit on the heavier side, in my opinion. also, there's plenty of pacing issues, as the show felt awfully rushed at times with lots of things left poorly explained or even unexplained. so a lot of open-ended questions, really.
very solid analysis and pointers, thank you for sharing your perspective. ah, prince of tennis, definitely a classic back in the day, lol. brings back memories. (random fact, i did swimming back as a school sport.)
personally, comedy is really a fine line between good and recycling. have you watched nichijou, for example? i know the over-the-top, slapstick humor in the show isn't for everyone. when almost every joke is slapstick, the novelty does kind of wear off, so there are some people who don't like it as much for that reason. but all in all, definitely agree with your thoughts.
yesssss! but, despite these issues, i can see why people like shounen shows. since shounen shows/manga are long-running, a lot of the MCs grow on you and makes you want to cheer for them. but, as you mentioned, tropes are a big problem, and because of them, the writing gets rather formulaic.
haha, i get that a lot. sport shows are definitely something, but a lot of them -- including haikyuu -- fall into the same tropes that plague a lot of shounen shows.
I understand, this is my first review I didn't know how to write it correctly I took into account the advice you gave me and I would improved my next reviews thanks anyway :)

Sora, Rie and Inori are all fantastic seiyuu's and some of the best among the current generation of seiyuu's.
