Episode 22 - I did not see this episode coming, not the cheerful pep talk between Andrew and Akko, or the importance of Akko's inexplicable inability to fly. The fact that even Diana noticed it but considered it mysterious is turning out to have been major foreshadowing. Croix's comment about the moon also makes the witching community's disparagement of Chariot and Diana's card tucked away in a box take on narrative form and force. Overall, I'm mildly stunned and impressed.
Well, Hanna and Barbara appear to have received the memo that the times they are a-changing, even as the writers were able to keep them true to their Diana-fan-girl cores :) And I thought this time for sure Ursula would tell Akko her identity. The surprising part was to have the ending scene with Ursula and Akko mirror Chariot and Croix following all the hinting and foreshadowing that Croix betrayed Chariot out of resentment or covetousness.
Hi! I agree with your comments about episodes 19 and 20, including how disappointing it would be if Diana persists in standing by while Hannah and Barbara taunt Akko for being Luna Nova's dunce. I'm still waiting to understand if it was Diana's mom who taught her to disparage Chariot -- it sort of makes sense given the seriousmindedness of the Cavendish women, but it also doesn't, you know? Since even the brief glimpse of Diana's mom made her seem genuinely kind and thoughtful of the needs of others, not one to despise sincere effort, even if it might appear frivolous by comparison to her family's healing tradition. If anything, Chariot unlocked 8 of the 9 words under the guidance of one of the nine old witches, right? Which would mean she had to have some familiarity with Beatrix the Kind. Was it you who wrote that Beatrix appeared to test Diana regarding her aunt? and then appeared to endorse her, just as Chariot's old teacher tested Akko regarding her past mistakes before endorsing her? I loved the scene with the two of them streaking through the air on Shiny Volley with Diana straining ahead like a jockey on Seabiscuit and Akko holding on for dear life. And the closing scene was just terrific :)
Thanks for spoiling in the FT Zero ep10 thread. Please refrain from posting infos from the main manga in that sub forum without using spoiler tag next time. Not everyone who is reading FT Zero also reads the main manga. Thanks.
