why thank you, I appreciate you taking time out of your day to read through my material :) means alot to hear that.
Hmm I see Geass is in your favorites. Well let's start by saying if I view Geass with a lens of mindless entertainment then it's an enjoyable anime title, but the moment I watch it paying attention is the moment it all falls apart. From the plot conveniences and plot armor to the poorly written characters and excessive 'asspull' plot twists, the whole thing is a mess of ideas thrown together in order to make something bombastic and eye catching. It's a inferior version to Gundam/Legend of the Galactic Heroes (the 2 titles Geass stole their entire story from) and because I've seen this setup done 10x better it's hard to find any redeeming qualities with it. If you read my score section then Geass falls perfectly into that description for rank 5.
"It can also be a case where the show excelled in a certain area but neglected alot of the fundamentals. May have had a good premise but failed to properly utilize it."
Geass excelled on the production side of things and the entertainment side since it was a spectacle but as far as the script is concerned it was a mess. And the premise it had was copy and pasting that of 2 good show but with all the contrived plotting it ended up failing to reach the same degree of success. I hope this explanation is good enough and thanks again for the friend request :)
The story progression was still great before the hiatus. Some shounen elements I've been noticing:
more and more chibi comedy with Puck and Isidoro
"nakama" is rising
stupid/weak/nonessential villain (the pirate)
overall lighter atmosphere and less major controversies
I bet something good (that is, bad) will happen soon though. I get what you mean, too, I'm hoping one day we'll see more on Zodd/SK/Void/ . . . basically every apostle.
I'll give it a shot at some point. Probably oughta knock some other stuff off my list first though (stuff I'm watching/reading already).
Vagabond is getting so good. I think it's nearing its end, too. I highly recommend OPM, it's a hilarious parody of superpower shounens and it has some legit artwork.
To me it seems like Berserk is gaining too many shounen elements, so I'm actually hoping for some dark stuff to return. Sorry Guts!
It fits, yeah, just don't really like it.
I've got Claymore on my PTR, but haven't looked too much into it. Sounds similar to Parasyte / Tokyo Ghoul / Attack on Titan though (which is not necessarily a bad thing, just that the genre is already explored quite a lot in manga).
I'm still waiting on Vagabond and One Punch Man too, the former of which is monthly and the latter of which usually has chapters that are way too short (sometimes only 5-10 pages). The struggle do be real.
It'd be cool if Casca got her memory back but I'm betting it'll require some sort of sacrifice/introspection on Guts' end.
Honeslty I didn't like that one as much throughout the anime. To me the vocals are a bit much and the music itself felt a little too ... minimalistic I guess. Like there wasn't much going on.
I'd definitely at least watch the third movie. They made the CGI tolerable in that one. And while the anime follows the story pretty truthfully, it cuts a lot of characters and scenes from the manga. The movies don't cut as much.
I'd love a remake too, but I also see it as unlikely (in the near future at least).
Yes, I did! Read it when the Korean scans came out, then the amateur English translations, then the good translations. Good chapter, but still didn't see any Guts :/
Very true. I'm watching Great Teacher Onizuka right now and even though the animation is old, it's still a great show.
I enjoyed the movies more than the anime. The VAs/SFX/music was much better (check my profile for the opening theme, it's fantastic). The bad thing is that during big battle scenes CGI was used, and it's really bad CGI. They somewhat improved it over the course of each movie though, and the third movie was awesome.
I'm not really a sports person either, but I really enjoyed it. I've only watched the first episode of the anime, and my only qualm with it is that the animation looks pretty outdated (it aired from 1993-1996).
It's all good. I see you're only 50 chapters into Vagabond even with your quite cool profile picture . . . It gets even better. I'd say that if you like it, you oughta give Slam Dunk a shot. It's by Inoue Takehiko as well, and while it's almost entirely different, it shows just how great Takehiko is at variation.

Heyo! Thanks for the add. =)
Noticed we share a lot of favorites, including Berserk.
It's great that the manga will be resuming this month.
Any plans on watching the 3 Berserk: The Golden Age Arc movies? ^^
