Rating Definition 1.31.2022:
Now that I watched >101 days of anime, it is time to level up my rating definitions, given my vastly expanded wisdom and impeccably cultured taste.
10: Its plot blows my mind. Some characters are my personal heroes. My waifu breathes in this universe.
9: I remember the plot 10 years later. I still feel the feel just reading the title.
8: This is like a pretty good anime
7: This is like an ehh anime
6: Probably didn't finish
1-5: I don't give out these scores anymore because I don't have time for garbage
Previous Rating Definition 2.12.2016:
Now that I have a slightly more critical view towards anime, especially in certain genres, I decided to update my ratings definition. I probably won't change my old ratings though, so newer anime are not necessarily worse, just that my standards have risen.
10: Well executed from beginning to end; negligible among of plot holes and no forceful development. Often contains overarching theme, mind blowing foreshadowings, and unpredictable plot twists. Romance are none artificial, usually developed gradually as it intertwines with plot.
9: Plot events or animation quality/style really really impresses me in some way. Or it doesn't, and I just like it a bunch for whatever reason. Most 9 scores fall in the later category.
8: Enjoyable to watch but lacks novelty or significant twists. Top seasonal anime usually falls here.
7: Also enjoyable, but contains predictable plot events and lacks novelty to a greater extent. Certain scenes are problematic, or overall art style not aesthetically pleasing.
6: Captivating at first, but soon declines in momentum. No single quality stands out. Usually full of fan service and not too much real plot happening. Do not recommend unless you have specific reasons or you are just really into fan service.
5: Mundane plot, or very illogical sequence of events and/or dialog. Typically accompanied by poor animation quality and soundtracks. I really shouldn't have wasted my time watching this.
4: I probably did not finish this anime. But if I did, it's because there's something that triggers me in some way, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Usually this anime just goes against my personal belief.
2~3: There's basically no difference in a 2 or 3. Anime receiving this score probably shouldn't have been produced in the first place. I don't even give out these scores anymore because those who might receive them gets dropped long before I watched enough of it to score it. Perhaps didn't even make it through the first episode. just fuck off.
1: School days.
Old Rating Definition:
10: Verweile doch, du bist so schön!!

8: Very well made
7: Enjoyable

5: Boring
4: I cannot accept something here.
3: This is wrong.
2: hmmm
1: School days.
