Hi! I really, REALLY like anime. I made this page to keep track of everything I've watched and read. I will give almost any show a shot, but my favorite genres are definitely a mix of the following:
1. Slice of Life (School Life/Workplace)
2. Romance (Serious/Romcom)
3. Drama (Inner/Outer Conflicts)
4. Comedy (Mixed with other genres/Gag/Parody)
Mainly, I like shows that are kilig (read: stories that make your heart go dokidoki like Ao Haru Ride, Given), emotional (Yorimoi, AnoHana), wholesome (Fruits Basket, K-On!) or hype af (Haikyuu, HeroAca).
I binge-watch most of the older shows I want to catch up on, but I also watch new seasonal anime weekly. Of course, this means that I drop a lot of shows after 1-3 episodes. I'm really at a point in my life where I don't feel like spending time and energy watching shows I don't enjoy just for the sake of it.
Mostly, I drop shows if they are haphazardly written and/or animated, contains really objectionable content, or have irritatingly excessive male-fanservice (usually scored 5 and below). But sometimes despite how good/well made a show is (sometimes with scores of 7-8), I can still end up dropping them if it simply doesn't connect with me or interest me on a certain level (or if it's too damn long - I'm looking at you, Naruto).
But when I love a show, I LOVE a show. So, shows with a perfect 10 score are examples of stories that connected with me deeply and that I truly, truly love. Scores of 8-9 are also shows that I love, but with some minor reservations in terms of writing, or animation or whatever else. I'd much rather talk about the anime I like than waste time on the ones I didn't. So if you're looking for new stuff to watch, I highly recommend any of the anime I've rated 10 for starters. Find the ones with the genres you like, and hopefully you'll them love them as much as I did. <3
