A friendly suggestion: If you have read a series' mangas or novels, don't watch its anime (which uses the same plot). Of course you may, but don't complain; enjoy the show.
And, I'm a member of this club:
Sadly, I'm told that the club is no more. Can't complain though, I'm not that active too there.
But still, I love this memberbadge:
I wish I could have it in real life!
Since December 2012, this is how I score completed anime in my list:
1-3: Haven't given anything with these scores. I hope I don't have to.
4: Well, it's simply bad, not enjoyable at all.
5: There's nothing to point out = average.
6: It is good in at least an area, e.g. good animation/art with bad story or good story but the rest are just crap.
7: It could be enjoyable even though there are flaws, usually has some interesting aspects.
8: A lot of people could enjoy it. People who like the show's genre are suggested to watch it.
9: Real good stuffs. Anybody should watch it.
10: Now, this is something special, something different, my personal taste. People may not enjoy it or a lot may say that my 10-scored-shows are boring. That's all right. These are points that my-10-scored anime must have besides good story, sound, and art: lessons I could take and uniqueness.
I call this standard as atseira's MyAnimeList Scoring System version 12.12 or aMALSS v12.12 hehehe For dropped shows: It doesn't mean that the show is so bad that I drop it. It just doesn't suit my taste (e.g. mahou shoujos doing what generic mahou shoujos do or some idol shows). An exception of Rurouni Kenshin, the dropped eps is the fillers after Shishio died. I actually scored it 10 until ep 62.
Honestly, it's still vague on how I score but yeah I'm not a pro critic. So, the standard could be changed as I experience more anime. Just pardon me, will you?
By the way,
there are anime that are so bad that I don't want to see them in my list/my history. That's probably why there will be no anime got scored below 4 in my list.
And, here's my MAL graph, showing how many scores I've given:
If you want a more objective score/view, just see the anime's total score here in MAL or one of the most helpful reviews. There are bunch of good reviewers here; MAL is a good community! :D
Special notes for ones who have watched Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch and its R2:
...pardon me, but...
Lelouch is still ALIVE. How could he die when his contract with C.C. hasn't been fulfilled?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the last Mad Scientists Newsletter. The club is a year and a half old now, during this time we made many friends and we had a lot of fun. But we are going to stop working on the it and will not be active on MyAnimeList anymore.
As a goodbye present we will leave you this: The Mad Test v2.0! We will leave this Mad Test open forever! Be sure to take it and become a member of the Order of The Mad Scientists!
This newsletter is just to inform you that new big updates are coming up, right now we're busy with getting everything back on track after our hiatus. We've updated some small things in the club already, but we’re still working on the rest, like new Membercards for instance.
In other news, the movie has been released on BD and we have uploaded it on Youtube with working English subtitles, in 720p! PM Rulius or RReplica for the link!
Currently we're also looking for staff members, to get our club running again and keeping it active, if you're interested, check out this forum!
Let’s keep fighting against the Organization together! El Psy Kongroo..!
Hey, thanks for reading up on my interpretation. I'm glad that it could have some insight for you. Most people are very closed minded so I had a hard time trying to explain my interpretation.
I was confused to as why people were disliking Guilty Crown even though I found so much meaning to it. I realized it is because they don't understand it. and in retaliation they blame the anime for their lack of analytic skills.
