Yeah, I love HxH so much, big fan here! I'm glad to know you like too. But I would say, despite being known as a shonen serie, I think that from York Shin onwards, it becomes much more of a Seinen series, with deeper and heavier themes, denser dialogues, greater character development, etc.

The current arc, by the way, is 100% dialogue, with a complex plot and very few fights I'm loving it, but people who just like fights complain a lot about it. So, HxH starts off as Shonen, but from York Shin onwards, and especially in the current arc of the manga, it becomes a Seinen in my vision.

So, if you've already seen the anime, I recommend starting the manga from chapter 340, which is as far as the anime covers (I'm referring to the 2011 anime, which is the best by the way). Or read from the beginning (which is what I did) if you're really interested, but there's nothing wrong with starting from 340 if you've already seen the anime...

So, I guarantee you that this manga is incredible, you won't regret reading it. 10 new chapters were recently released and there are 50 more to be released soon... It's the right time to read HxH!

I read the first volume of Dai Dark not too long ago. It's a little too early for me to talk definitively, but it definitely has a lot of the same appeal as Dorohedoro with its worldbuilding, fun characters, and a mystery element. However, it's not quite as good to me as early Dorohedoro, and I hope Dai Dark differentiates itself from its predecessor as it goes on. I'm definitely going to read more of it at some point.
