I still really love Tensei Slime, its a power fantasy that doesn't do anything annoying.

Luffy is annoying as shit. Every shonen author wants to make their MC dumb as a brick. I moved past that shonen phase years ago.

Writing stories with a large amount of side characters is problematic. Most of these characters aren't going to be relevant for too long. They're just filler characters Oda came up with to add an overly long flashback, or to lazily explain why the villains became evil.

That is a sin in storytelling. Even in literature, where there are no pictures, the classic advice is to "show, dont tell". And yet Oda always tells his stories in the most boring way possible.

I dont mean to come off as aggressive. As a former One Piece fan, I want to say this: Please see the light. There are better shows. You dont have to waste your time like I did.

in all seriousness, Luffy is a joke protagonist. The "I'm so stupid and goofy but yet badass" is probably one of the worst shonen tropes.

You say you hate Danmachi, yet you like Luffy from One Piece and Tensei Slime.

Slime is one of my favourite anime, but its an obvious power fantasy. Dont take points off of Danmachi for doing the same thing.

I liked One Piece as a kid, but this was back when I didn't know any better. I didn't know how stupid a show could be.

Luffy is an annoying "i want to be the [insert famous title]" type of kid. The kid literally says "I'm gonna become Pirate King!" every 20 chapters lmao. So repetitive. I hate the stupid MC trope where the MC is made to be extremely dumb for everything except for combat. Maybe its so the kids who watch One Piece can relate to the MC?

One Piece is a garbage manga/anime full of hundreds of backstories for irrelevant side characters who we wont see in the next arc.

Although I prefer the light novels over the anime, I think its still nice seeing people enjoying Drgustore in another world when everybody else just talks trash about it.

Also Mushoku and To your eternity in favorites, you really have nice taste. :)
