Hi you guys my name is Kacey and I am a writer. I love anime and have been watching it since I was 5. People say my taste is random, but I guess I am the biggest shounen fan even though I am a chick. I am not much of writer when it comes to myself, but I hope you guys can recommend some good anime. I write reviews on here good or bad, but usually I drop anime that is bad. Maybe it's because I'm like that when I read books that are bad as well. Some say the anime industry is going downhill, but I think people are not looking outside there usually genre zone. By the way I am not a big fan of heavy drama, mecha, and sci fi anime so please only recommend those that you know for certain I would like.

You should say it clearly you are looking for originality (even in the art), you can say what you want the art of FMP is fantastic .
And when I see "Nothing pops about the art style" although it was made in 2002 , I just can't recall that your blind or you just despite this anime to an extent that you just writing haphazardly.
In you review you also recall a lot of "unoriginal" stuff .
Like the story, the characters and surely other things .
I don't see where it's unoriginal, there are plenty of details proper to FMP, there isn't one anime that come near to it . You just saying randomly that it's unoriginal .

Of course Goku from Saiyuki and DBZ (well, at least Dragon Ball) looks alike... the two stories are from the start based on the same old Chinese story!!!
If you want blood you have to read the manga (the anime as most of TV anime is heavily blood cencored) or the other seasons/OVA. The fisrt season had a very low budget (just look at the animation !! but great seiyuu). Probably because no one though people will be interested in! The mangaka, Minekura Kazuya, wanted to be published in a shoujo manga but it looks not interesting for girls at this time so she went to a shounen mag (so fanservice for guys? no I don't think so, she's always drawing sexy big boobs girls chara) but now (from Saiyuki Reload) she's back in a more shoujo mag! and it's even better, and her drawing also is much more better ^^
Indeed, people will disagree with reviews, but that is one of the points: to have a conversation with the work and the reviewer. Why does this critic not like this piece of work because of this aspect? Why do I like it? What's the difference between him/her and me? These are fantastic questions that reviews should do.
I have disagreed with my favorite reviewers all the time: Archaeon for example does not share my love for School Days and Roger Ebert has amused me and a lot of others. Nevertheless, we engage in discussions to figure out each other's opinions.
That, to me, is how a review should be.
personally for me i liked the fumoffu for its comedy more than the FMP series. i mean the first season didnt even interest me enough to see the 2nd. but fumoffu, lots of laugh (then again, it wouldnt be as funny if you didnt see fmp)
