Feel free to friend-request me - I may not be on here often, but I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Apparently, in some parts of the world, the statistics up top would make me some sort of Anime Reviewer God. By some parts of the world, I mean places like Vanuatu.
While I've dropped over 100 anime, I have instituted a New Year's Resolution as of 2012 that I won't drop or leave anything incomplete if I intend to review it. Note that I do not, by and large post reviews here, as I already have a venue for that.
No, I have no intention of "catching up" to anyone else. After running THEM Anime Reviews for a decade, I'm simply not the rabid fan I used to be. But I've got a special someone to watch anime with nowadays which proves I could *always* be motivated to get back in the saddle now and again. I'm just too busy with my life these days, but in a good way.
However, thanks to sites like Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix, and NicoVideo, I don't have to worry about torrents anymore! (Though I've been around long enough to remember relying on VHS fansubs. Y'all are spoiled!)
Note that the manga list is horribly incomplete, it might take a while to get where it should be.
I spent a few years as a Walt Disney World Cast Member - I am now in Austin, Texas, and returning to the convention scene as a panelist on anime reviews and anime history. If you attend conventions in Central or North Texas, feel free to drop in and say hi! I also did this little thing called Jeopardy! in late 2013 where I mention being an anime fan on national television.
Despite my longtime love-hate relationship with the medium, I do not self-identify as otaku. Maybe a weeb? I dunno. Got way too much on my plate to ever qualify for those titles. A better term would be dilettante, or fact-collector, seeing as I also do this sort of thing with field biology (birds, butterflies, plants), genealogy, aviation, NCAA football.

And 211 shared anime titles. @_@
Need to find something to replace Sengoku Collection now, though.
As far as Yama no Susume goes (and the whole lottery thing); Mid-July is actually not a very good time to go hiking unless you love being hounded by large hordes of flies. :-P
I didn't make it far enough to judge anyone else in the series. Did you ever pick up the DVD sets, incidentally? I imagine they're ridiculously expensive now.
And yeah, I really didn't like Miki at all. She's not that bad in the manga, but the anime version of her is a bitch. Meiko was just as bad.
Your posts on FB always sound good and glad to see you back watching anime.
Well, I'm an only child so I can only tease, not understand the protectiveness older siblings feel. :P
I posted on why I enjoyed Rinne. Hardly earth-shattering, but it's the minor stuff that can add up and annoy - or not, in this case.
With all due respect to your sis-in-law, lesbians can have trashy lifestyle, Strawberry Panic drama. Doesn't everyone? lol. The last person I could call my best friend (and she probably still is, but we rarely meet nowadays) sure had her share of trashy encounters that left me O.o. Not that Strawberry Panic wasn't awful.
Also, if she is reading this comment for some reason, WE GOTTA WATCH PENGUINDRUM NAO! CALL ME! *ahem*
