From your Kare Kano review:

Also, as a side note, I can't help but wonder why this show has gotten so many high ratings. Yes, it shows tons of potential, and the characters are very interesting, and the voice acting is well done, but how can any show that wasn't even completed earn more than a 6 or a 7?
Interestingly, not once in your review do you mention the word 'romance' nor do you mention the way it handles teenage angst and drama. A show that manages to craft a strong, believable romance with strong, believable and endearing leads that subverts the majority of the cliches present in the typical romantic comedy is a fantastic show in my book.

You also speak of 'potential', in that people shouldn't rate the show based on what it could be rather than what it is. Ironically enough, you're also arguably basing your rating on the show's potential, in that the show could be completed, but it isn't. Why not direct your attention to what Kare Kano has accomplished, rather than what it could have accomplished?

People enjoy anime in different ways for different reasons to different degrees with different standards, hence our scores are different.

Nice "Haganai" review, though I really hate the way the illustrator's way of dressing up Kodaka, co'z he's suppose to look like a delinquent but looks more like a dork.

In my opinion,I guess it's better if the tv god won't grant haganai a bless for another season..Even if the 2nd season will come up,I doubt that it willl have anything in its content than a filler..

Nice "Maken-ki" review, and you are riight about discribing it as a lost potential.

I havent heard much of the durarara novels but i do know its reasonably different to the anime. Though i would love a second season of durarara, i suppose im ok with it ending. If i really want to find out what happens i guess i will read the novels.

Whenever im waiting for shows or their weekly episodes i like to watch romcoms, they brighten up my day and give me a good laugh.
also i would like to add that you should watch baccano if you enjoyed durarara but i believe that it is better.

Nice durarara review sometimes i think im a bit to generous with scores but because i love durarara i feel dodgey giving it a 10. But i understand where your coming from.

Looking at your anime list your quite the romcom lover, though i do agree its one of the better genre for shows :)

Yeah, them two did. I'm just sick of seeing people hating on Near so I guess I put it in my last comment.

No...it wasn't even that they were good looking. C'mon, how can people not see how sick the art is? It was plain ridiculous. Of course it has to appeal to the audience but there is a line between eye-candy art and art that makes supermodels look fat and short.

I haven't watched Detective Conan but I would think there are quite a lot of murders in Japan :D Maybe not with a lot of hat-tricking techniques and such, but a country of that size would have a lot of murder cases. They may not all be publicised...but even here, we get about 3+ muders publicesed on our news so its not such a stretch to think there are the same or above levels of muder acts in Japan. I really want to watch Conan now, I haven't watched/read a mystery in a while.

*Sigh* I typed out a reply and the bloody internet got rid of it. Lets see what I can remember...

I know! When L died it wasn't the same...he just brought so much to the show. But I still don't know why people are hating on Near so much. Okay, sure he's a L wannabe but he clearly states that he is not as good as L, only together with Mello are they able to surpass him.

It wasn't that the characters looked the same in Code Geass..in fact they did a pretty neat job in giving distinct characteristics and all...it was just how RIDICULOUS the character designs were. They were all like 6ft tall and probably had a 25cm waist. I felt like force-feeding them all.

Lol, this review is good at telling it how it is (even though he rated it 9/10 he still likes to poke fun):

Ah, you put Princess Tutu on your plan to watch! Excellent show. I never thought I would like such a show, but its proof you can't judge a show by its title.

Thanks for telling me that, I guess I won't pick up NHK afterall if I hadn't enjoyed it thus far.

The characters? That was the part I enjoyed the most! I don't think it's a question of whether or not you like the characters, since just about every single one of them are easy to hate. The characters essentially was the show, in my opinion. Personally, I just liked how f****d up the whole cast was. What I really disliked about NGE though was all the battles, when they would start rambling off the Sci-Fi. I was completely lost at those parts, just didn't know what on earth was going on.

As for the movies, I didn't really enjoy them much since they just seemed like recaps of the show. But the rest of the movies are yet to be released, dubbed or otherwise so the story may take a turn in those movies. End of Evangelion gave me a headache though from frowning throughout the entire movie due to the confusing/out of whack story and transitioning. EoE wraps up the story though, sort of, if that's what you're looking for.

Meh, I know Death Note has a lot of flaws. But its the *official* anime that got me hooked onto animanga so I'm pretty stubborn about it.

*Facepalm* Code Geass. Oh lord. I see you've rated it a 9 or 10. I can't fathom why this show is so popular -- it was obvious CLAMP had just ripped off Death Note, even moreso since they were released simultaneously. There were so many plot holes, and the 'story' would take some random turn in direction out of nowhere. And the character designs were annoying to look at -_-

I dropped NHK about halfway through (the boredom!), does it get any better later in the series?

(About NGE) You should try watching the last arc (about episodes 20-26), that was what made the anime for me. The first half sucked. But yeah, I get where you're coming from.
