Very good BTR review

Your Bocchi review makes no sense.. when you say "Bocchi doesn't try to get better on her own and she just relies on others to fix her problems", Bocchi does try on her own to make steps towards talking and communicating better with her friends and other people, and she's grown a lot throughout the manga and anime. You clearly should watch the full anime or pay more attention if you have. She's socially awkward and has a hard time communicating. Lower your expectations for her.

Then you want to compare her to if she was a real person... It's a *comedy* and music anime- YES! I can admit that if Bocchi was a real person it would be kinda weird and awkward to be friends with her, but the whole point of the weirdness she displays is because she has social anxiety, and she's an introvert. "But if she was a real person-" that's completely irrelevant.

"The supporting cast is only there to make Bocchi do stuff and to compliment on how awesome she is." That's not what the supporting cast was only there for but ok...

Bocchi the Rock is a slice-of-life anime showcasing the story of Hitori Goto (Bocchi), her friends, her artistic and musical journey, and most importantly, her difficulty in dealing with deep social anxiety.
Anyway, like I was saying your review on "Bocchi the Rock!" makes absolutely no sense. Generally don't know what was going through your brain while you wrote that review and I know you most likely thought it made sense, which it did not. You honestly should've just rated the anime and gone on with your day 😭.

Also very sorry if this comment came off as rude to you because I can agree the anime is overrated but it still is very deserving of its 8-star rating, it's still one of my favorites and your review just made no sense to me and others.

Yo! Despite having given it a 10/10, I still think Bocchi is kinda overrated tbh... The comedy and characters tick all the boxes for my personal enjoyment so it was an easy 10 for me, but I fail to see how it is so loved when it's "just" a more recent K-ON with crippling social anxiety as an added bonus. Basically, my take is that Bocchi is an anime that I absolutely adore, but I don't understand why it had a broad appeal on a community that usually shuns moe content.

For me it's might me a combination of a few things:

Introverts (so the kind of people who watch anime in the first place) like to claim their preference for solo time is social anxiety, even though most don't seem to understand that that's a literal medical condition and not a quirky personality trait, so they feel "connected" to Bocchi even though they're not remotely as affected as her.

I also think that the "memeable" aspects of the show, carried by the varied artistic choices of the studio during Bocchi's social woes, allowed for a word of mouth (word of meme?) marketing strategy that could only bring the internet's adoration in some spheres (also I am, again, shocked by the widespread adoption).

I don't know where you are on the spectrum (basing this on your review), and usually wouldn't really want to really want to go in a medical tangent I have no business discussing, but various sources tell me that people on the spectrum sometimes have difficulties feeling or handling empathy. If I was to take an uneducated guess, maybe parts you find cringe in the show, due to the personal experience you discuss in your review, actually trigger empathy in others?

If you're the kind of people who can't handle cringe, this also might make you dislike the show quite easily. I usually hate cringe scenes in anime, but the artistic choices of the animation team that I mentioned earlier made up for it.

Ultimately, I think Bocchi is an excellent moe show, that does have a broad appeal as it looks to have taken heavy inspiration on K-ON who also had that kind of reach. However, meme culture has made it so it's been blown out of proportion, and is unfortunately one of those seasonal anime who are praised by many right now, but will be forgotten by most non moe enjoyers quite rapidly.

You could've just given it a 4 and not say anything cause your review legit makes no sense and shows you clearly did not watch the show fully or you somehow didnt understand a very easy to understand problem especially if youre truly "on the spectrum". maybe idk watch the show before writing a review or just rate it 4 and leave.
