I'm glad to hear you like stuff like that, now I can admit I like it a little too...
I just don't care for rating stuff, simply logging it is easier. Ratings are always subject to change, every piece of media has something good about it.
I'm glad you enjoyed Made in Abyss! I love it but I have a bunch of burnouts from reading BOTI. The arc I'm on has the same setting and it's so long. So yesterday I put on a nice little hour film called Angel's Egg. It's one of those kinds of nonsensical media, I liked it a lot. I don't have to analyze anything because the movie is up for interpretation, the director couldn't even tell you what it meant lol. I like things like that.
Regarding Maruo Suehiro, definitely check him out if his surreal stories and awesome art style appeal to you. It's really dark though, some people I've talked to refer to some of his work as "misery porn." So be warned it's not for everyone. I like the opening surreal illustrations to DDT. Two of them are on display in my profile bio under "Show Manga Illustrations."
Also looking into Maruo Suehiro's work a bit in between. I've finished a short story collection, as well as a one chap by him. [DDT] [The Dancing Dwarf]
Two great titles! Actually I've finished the four physical omnibuses I own, not the entire manga series. Probably should've been really clear about that in my previous comment hahaha. But I'll be sure to let you know what I think when I finish it! I love it so far. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Hey! Just checking in. I hope everything is well with you. Is anything interesting going on? Have you read anything? I've just finished reading all four physical omnibuses of Blade of the Immortal that I own. As far as samurai manga goes, it's a goldie!
Yeah, it's been about 3 years so it's hard to talk specifics. I thought it had a somewhat interesting setup, but most of the new characters don't really matter at all after a bit. A lot of plot developments felt moreso built around shocking revelations than anything else, which annoyed me since a few subplots kinda went nowhere. It's not the worst thing I've read, but I couldn't see myself ever rating it above a 4. Maybe on the off-chance I reread the original I'll give it a second shot.
Yeah I really enjoyed the ending of Sonny boy too, I need to rewatch it as well I haven’t seen it since it was airing. As for my recommendations i think these two films are a really great watch, lmk if you end up watching either!

I'm well myself, have you read anything as of recently?
