Concerning your Gravion Zwei review, while I do agree that there's waaaaaaayyyy too much fanservice (especially since it didn't need any to be entertaining) and the first season is pure lazy bait, failing to even have decent MOTWs, Zwei does have some cool stuff for mecha fans -- specifically the entire ending, Sol Gravion, the Gran Troopers, the transforming Zeravire, the episode where they use drills as propellers underwater, and the episode where Gravion is captured by the Zeravire. I like basic MOTW shows, so lack of overarching story or character drama is fine for me -- but not when it has as much fanservice as Gravion does. Funny enough, Dancouga Nova (also made by Obari and a canonical prequel to Gravion) is way stronger than Gravion (S1, at least) since it actually had good MOTWs.
