Each element can be valued from 1 to 10, being 5 to 10 the most common values, and less than 5 that the manga totally fails at that. Story depth 100% Story evolution :: Length 100% Story :: Genre 100% Art Quality :: Year 60% Art Quality :: Style 65% Art appropriacy 80% Characters evolution 80% Characters depth 100% Characters background 80% Genre :: Interest 80% Genre :: Originality 75% Music Quality 85% Music :: Appropriacy 90% Voice Acting 100% Explanations: · Story depth represents how deep, intriging, interesting and engaging is the story, in overall terms. · Story evolution :: Lenght is used to score how the manga/anime story evolves along its duration. · Story :: Genre rates how engaging and interesting is the story in relationship with the genre. · Art Quality :: Year is used to rate how beautiful is art in relation to the year the manga/anime was published. · Art Quality :: Style values how good the art is in relation with the manga/anime style. · Art appropriacy values how well the art communicates ideas and emotions in the manga/anime. · Characters evolution means if the characters personalities evolve in a logical and smooth way along the manga/anime. · Characters depth represents how deep and engaging are the characters personalities. · Characters background values how interesting and logical is the characters history, and how well their background story was developed. · Genre :: Interest rates how well the manga/anime performs to attract a reader interested in such genre. · Genre :: Originality values which new elements brings the manga/anime making it unique and special in relation with its main genre. · Music Quality (Only for anime) The overall quality of the music, either for the opening, ending and the anime itself. · Music :: Appropriateness (Only for anime) How well the music matches the anime action, plot and different situations, as well as how well the music and silences (lack of music) are placed and used. · Voice Acting (Only for anime) How good the voice acting is.* * Voice acting is always and only scored for the original Japanese voices. The total values are then calculated. From 1 to 4, the manga/anime is considered terrible. Not worth reading/watching. A lose of time. A 5, the manga/anime is just ok. It could be entertaining, but usually it lacks quality to really worth reading/watching. You could define this as "meh". A 6, the manga/anime could worth reading if the plot is really interesting, but only as a side project, like for example during short trips, where you dont pay too much attention. A 7, the manga/anime is, overall, good and it definetely worths watching/reading, but it lacks in some important aspect or aspects. A 8, the manga/anime is absolutelly recommended to read/watch. Most important factors are all there (plot, characters, etc...) and they are good but it could be improved. A 9, the manga/anime is excelent and a "must-read/watch". Some minor aspects could be improved anyway, but the experience while reading is that of being in front of an excellent quality piece of literature. A 10, a true masterpiece, perfect or almost perfect in both, major and minor characteristics, which delivers an epic experience to the reader/watcher. |
