Sometimes I can’t help but just feel vexated at society and utterly devoid of all hope in humanity. On one hand, the majority of normies (or people from all walks really) are bigots, prudes, hypocrites, manipulating, fake, and roll around in their own unsavory wrongdoings while preaching to others out of the sides of their mouths. On the other hand, the majority of Western/English-speaking otaku/anime fans & the like; are idiots. Most of the casual western anime fans just dabble in a few anime or manga that has relatable content to their mainstream tastes in live-action series, and then trash the rest without actually trying to watch or understand other genres unique to the industry and foreign cultures. At the same time, most of the veteran western otaku who take anime and the like somewhat or more seriously; don’t actually think about the structures of the plots in anime and ignorantly praise works that are truly bland or irritating to people who keep their brain turned on (like Death March or Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken/Reincarnated as a Slime, and Yes - Black Clover). And I mean does anyone in this otaku culture actually take 20 hours to just go through tvtropes.org and wise up!?

It’s truly frustrating, because when I first started watching anime as a young, troubled, frustrated, ignorant, socially isolated & ostracized 12 year old boy: mainstream anime was awesome! The stuff coming out then was innovating, pushing boundaries, appealing to audiences no one has ever tried to appeal to before, fed morals and deep topics to you in enjoyable manners that still left you to figure it out for yourself and actually take things to heart, and overall just felt like people were somewhat passionate about their jobs and cared about what they were delivering to consumers.

Now I scroll through new seasons, and over half of it is dumb, bland, low quality animation, and utterly infuriating crap. I do however retain a small semblance of hope in the industry, derived from the truly invigorating and unique anime that make their way through the mud every season (take Tate No Yuusha, Kaguya-Sama, Fairy Tail final season, Promised Neverland, Dororo [coming from a new player that I actually like that gave us Kokkoku], One Punch Man, Singeki No Koujin, etc.) and a few good watches that are at least entertaining even if not innovative or superb (Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka, Gotoubun no Hanayome, Mob Psycho 100 [innovative but very low graphics quality], and maybe even Endro! and SAO Alicization). This coming out of a season with over 140 anime, and around 100 of them being crap… If the industry doesn’t have the money to make high or medium budget works; then it needs to consolidate other lack luster concept projects, NOT pump out bland crap, and just go “full in” on one project instead of juggling multiple and hoping they get lucky. We don’t need 140 anime series a season, but we should have at least 10 great hits and 10 decent watches a season.

It's even gotten to the point where I'm watching more Hentai than anime, FOR THE PLOT. I kid you not. Y'all seen Rance and Shikkoku No Shaga? Either series' plot spanning 4 episodes is infinitely better than the whole 100 episodes of Black Clover.
That, and I am also spending a lot of time replaying Dark Souls games recently (on my 127th playthrough on DS3!).

So, why am I posting this otaku industry crusading speech on my bio? The answer is I don’t know how else I can give you an accurate feel for what kind of person I am, and why even read anyways? But, since you did do me the kindness of reading through this word wall of oddity; why not let me return the favor and get to know you? Maybe we’ll hit it off and have some good back-to-back chats at each other’s leisure? Maybe we’ll both get bored after two messages and succumb to dark urges to rebel against world society as it encroaches on our daily lives instead? Who knows, who cares; I’m all about anime fanraging/trashing chats, dark humor, moral authority compulsions, strange aesthetics, and bringing up random topics: Take it or leave it.
